According to statistics from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the first 9 months of 2024, the rate of underemployment in the province currently accounts for about 1.45% of the total number of working-age workers; the underemployment rate for men accounts for 1.35% and for women accounts for 1.5%, in urban areas it is 1.3%, in rural areas it is 1.55%.
In order to increase the quantity and quality of laborers working abroad for a limited period, in recent times, Tam Nong district has promoted the dissemination of support and preferential policies for overseas workers. The district's Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with localities to widely announce the need to recruit laborers to work abroad for a limited period so that people can know and choose a market that suits their capacity and needs. 100% of communes and towns have established a steering committee for overseas labor work. In order to create favorable financial conditions for overseas workers, banks located in the area have also actively implemented overseas labor loans and job creation; carried out loan procedures, disbursed capital quickly, accurately and promptly. Thanks to that, in the first 9 months of 2024, the whole district has sent 120 people to work abroad. Comrade Hoang Viet Chung - Head of the District Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said: "To achieve the above results, since the beginning of the year, the district has coordinated to select and introduce reputable and responsible enterprises with the function of sending workers to work abroad for a limited period of time and with orders suitable to the needs of workers.
The district creates conditions for businesses to organize consultation and propaganda sessions, select workers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts; at the same time, organize propaganda, warn people and raise vigilance against brokerage activities that illegally send workers abroad.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the whole province sent 2,059 people to work abroad, reaching over 82% of the annual plan. To achieve that result, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with districts to organize training and propaganda conferences on employment policies and sending workers to work abroad under contracts for over 1,500 people, including leaders of People's Committees of communes, wards and towns, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs officials, Youth Union, Women's Union, social workers, heads of residential areas and workers.
The Department appraised the legal documents of 25 enterprises sending workers to work abroad to recruit workers in districts, cities and towns. During this time, the Department also announced and guided necessary procedures, provided orientation education for 157 workers to work in Korea under the EPS Program; at the same time, guided and received 340 applications for recruitment in the manufacturing and construction industry and announced exit instructions for 110 workers to work in Korea under the EPS Program...
In fact, the foreign labor market currently needs a lot of labor to restore the economy. Therefore, the number of workers going to work abroad under contracts is increasing. However, most foreign employers want to accept trained workers with professional qualifications, skills, and foreign language proficiency. Because these workers have the ability to quickly absorb work, work productively and effectively, and have a better sense of labor discipline and living. Meanwhile, the province's workers going to work abroad are mainly unskilled workers, which is also a difficulty for workers who want to participate in markets with high income and good working conditions.
In order to gradually overcome the above limitations and achieve the goal of sending 2,500 workers to work abroad as planned in 2024, Mr. Nguyen Hien Ngoc - Head of the Department of Employment and Labor Safety (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) said: In the last months of the year, we will continue to introduce and create conditions for enterprises with the function of labor export to districts, cities and towns to recruit workers to work abroad; guide the necessary procedures for workers to work in Korea - EPS; confirm individual contracts to work abroad. The Center for Employment Services - Vocational Education will also promote propaganda and consultation on job settlement and labor export.
Along with promoting propaganda, Party committees and authorities at all levels also need to further strengthen leadership and direction for labor export work, creating opportunities for businesses, vocational training institutions, and businesses sending workers abroad to recruit and enroll students to meet labor market requirements and suit people's aspirations.
