The General Department of Market Management said that on June 8, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management Nguyen Thanh Binh signed Official Dispatch No. 1164/TCQLTT-CNV to the Market Management Departments of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct the strengthening of market inspection and control of electrical equipment products in response to the increasing demand of people for this product.
According to the General Department of Market Management, recently, record heat has occurred in many localities across the country, leading to an increase in people's demand for electrical equipment such as generators, rechargeable fans, energy-saving cooling devices, etc. Due to limited supply, some businesses and individuals have taken advantage of this by raising the prices of these products for illegal profit, affecting the rights of consumers.
To prevent this behavior and protect consumer rights, the General Department of Market Management requires market management departments of provinces and cities under the Central Government to strengthen their grasp of the area, proactively deploy professional measures, detect and strictly handle violations in the business of products such as generators, rechargeable fans, energy-saving cooling equipment, etc.
Hanoi residents flock to shopping malls to escape the "combo" of power outages and heat.
Also in this document, the General Department of Market Management directed that when detecting establishments with violations, the market management force must strictly handle them and at the same time publicly announce the establishment's name and address on mass media.
Previously, on June 7, Director of the Hanoi Market Management Department Chu Xuan Kien also signed Official Dispatch 551/QLTTHN-NVTH to market management team leaders regarding the verification, inspection, and handling of violations in the trading and circulation of electrical equipment.
