According to information from the Provincial Market Management Department, in order to carry out the peak period of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before the Lunar New Year 2025 (from November 1, 2024 to January 24, 2025), the Provincial Market Management Department inspected 141 cases, of which 129 cases were handled with a total fine and value of confiscated goods of over 1 billion VND.
Authorities discovered a vehicle transporting animal products of unknown origin in Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, with a quantity of 260kg.
Of which, the total amount of fines and payment to the State budget is nearly 900 million VND; the value of confiscated goods is over 85 million VND. The main violations are: Using people in direct contact with food without wearing hats or masks in food production areas; trading in food of unknown origin; trading in counterfeit Adidas, Nike,... brands that are protected in Vietnam. At the same time, the authorities have forced the destruction of over 700kg of animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business and thousands of cosmetics, clothing, and footwear products of unknown origin...
Continuing to implement the peak of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025, the Provincial Market Management Department directed the Market Management Teams to grasp the market situation; focus on checking and controlling the stabilization of prices of goods and services to ensure the balance of supply and demand of goods, especially essential consumer goods for people's consumption; strengthen the management of the area, detect and strictly handle violations; at the same time, monitor business activities at tourist areas, sightseeing spots, and the Spring Festival of At Ty 2025.
