Handling officials' responsibilities if African swine fever breaks out

Local officials who are subjective and negligent in causing the outbreak of African swine fever will be considered for disciplinary action.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has just signed and issued an official dispatch to departments, branches, districts, towns and Steering Committee 389 of Hanoi City requesting strict implementation of measures to prevent and control African swine fever.

Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee requested districts, towns, departments, branches and sectors to continue to strictly implement Directive No. 21/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister; Plan No. 180/KH-UBND of Hanoi on prevention and control of African swine fever in the period of 2020 - 2025.

Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities directly direct and mobilize local resources to thoroughly handle outbreaks, prevent new outbreaks from occurring; resolutely and strictly handle cases of transporting and trading pigs infected with African swine fever.

Hanoi also directed localities to strengthen proactive disease surveillance; step up propaganda and raise people's awareness in disease prevention and control. In particular, consider handling the responsibility of leaders if they are subjective and negligent in leadership and direction, leading to disease outbreaks.

The Hanoi People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to departments, branches and sectors based on their functions and tasks, strictly implementing the contents of Directive No. 21/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister. Fully and promptly report the epidemic situation to proactively take measures to prevent the outbreak and spread of African swine fever.
