On April 28, there were 5 calls and messages from people reflecting on the hotline of the National Traffic Safety Committee. The calls were forwarded to the authorities for verification and timely handling.

Regarding the traffic safety situation through the media, the National Traffic Safety Committee said that on the afternoon of April 27 and the morning of April 28, many gateway routes of the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City experienced prolonged congestion, such as on Ring Road 3 (Hanoi), Phap Van - Cau Gie route, in front of the ticket checkpoint on the Hanoi side of the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway. Due to the prolonged congestion on Ring Road 3, many vehicles went down to the lower lane of the Ring Road, causing this lane to also be in a difficult situation.

On the afternoon of April 27, vehicles continued to converge on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. Authorities flexibly opened and closed the expressway to divert traffic and direct vehicles onto the expressway or go in other directions to avoid traffic jams.

On April 28, people continued to return to the West for the holiday, the density of vehicles passing through Rach Mieu Bridge increased, leading to traffic congestion in this area. Although the traffic police force has diverted and regulated traffic, serious traffic congestion still occurred on Nguyen Thi Thap Street - National Highway 60 in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province. The Ben Tre - Tien Giang Province side is more open, congestion only occurs when the traffic police block the flow to give priority to vehicles from Tien Giang. The number of vehicles passing through the temporary Rach Mieu ferry (across the Tien River) also increased, ferries had to operate continuously to reduce the load on Rach Mieu Bridge.

The National Traffic Safety Committee assessed that because many agencies and businesses still had to work on Saturdays, many workers just started their holiday from the afternoon of April 27 and the morning of April 28, causing prolonged congestion on many gateway routes of the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and on some highways. However, the Traffic Police Department has increased its forces to the maximum to coordinate with local police to proactively direct and direct traffic in gateway areas, on key highways and national highways, so the traffic situation quickly stabilized, helping people travel smoothly and safely./.
