- Proposal to remove gold jewelry from the conditional business category
This is the contribution of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to the draft Report on the review of regulations on business conditions of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. According to VCCI, the gold jewelry business does not affect public interests like other types of gold in the same "gold business" group (according to Nguoi Lao Dong).

On September 14, Petrolimex Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PG Bank) announced the appointment of Mr. Pham Manh Thang as General Director, effective from September 15. - Demand for fire extinguishers and masks skyrockets, market management prevents "price gouging"
Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management (GDM) Nguyen Thanh Binh has just signed an official dispatch to the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities on strengthening inspection and handling of violations in the trading of fire prevention and fighting equipment on the market. Accordingly, the market management force across the country will strengthen inspection and handling of hoarding and price increase of fire prevention and fighting equipment such as: fire extinguishers, smoke masks, fire escape ladders... - Vietnamese coffee 'sold out' for export despite record high prices
In the first 8 months of 2023, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 1.2 million tons, worth 2.96 billion USD, down 5.4% in volume but up 3.1% in value over the same period last year. In August 2023, Vietnam's average coffee export price reached a record high of 3,054 USD/ton, up 8% over the previous month and up sharply by 29.7% over August 2022. - The reason why Vietnam's rice export price suddenly left the peak
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of rice at the end of this week's trading session was 613 USD/ton for 5% broken rice and 598 USD/ton for 25% broken rice, both down 30 USD/ton compared to the peak price set on August 31 but still about 100 USD/ton higher than 2 months ago. The main reason for the sharp decline in export rice prices is due to reduced demand (according to Nguoi Lao Dong).

Gold prices today on the world market decreased slightly in the context of economic data from China positively affecting the precious metal. Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars increased sharply, up to 250,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions.
Oil prices on the world market today have leveled off after rising to a 10-month high. Oil prices cooled down as investors became more cautious. Brent crude oil ended the week at $93.93/barrel, while WTI crude oil was at $90.77/barrel.
