On the night of November 7, responding to VTC News reporters, the leader of Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police said that the unit is protecting the scene of the crane truck hitting the Long Bien bridge girder.
The crane truck with license plate number of Bac Ninh province was moving in the direction of Tran Nhat Duat to Long Bien market. When it reached under Long Bien bridge, the crane part of the truck had an accident and got stuck on the bridge body.

Witnesses said they heard a loud noise at the time of the incident. At the scene, the car's windshield was shattered.
Debris was scattered on Tran Nhat Duat Street. Police had to block off part of the street to rescue the vehicle.
The leader of Traffic Police Team No. 1 added that the incident caused the bus assistant to suffer minor injuries. Initial investigations determined that the bus was stuck due to its height exceeding the limit.

Long Bien Bridge was built more than 100 years ago, spanning the Red River, connecting Long Bien and Hoan Kiem districts.
In May 2022, a heavy, bulky three-wheeled vehicle passed right over the weak, rotten steel support bar that broke, causing a large hole about 60x80 cm in diameter. The problem was quickly fixed.
After that, the Long Bien bridge management unit erected barriers at the entrances to the bridge to prevent three-wheeled vehicles, porters, and vehicles carrying bulky goods from going up.
At the same time, the management unit also placed additional warning signs that Long Bien bridge is weak and under repair, and that cars and three-wheeled vehicles are not allowed to move onto the bridge.
A large hole appeared on the Long Bien bridge in May 2022.
