A representative of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 3 said that from yesterday afternoon (February 1) to 0:00 today, the number of vehicles entering the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45, heading towards the northern provinces, has increased dramatically.

"In particular, on the Phap Van - Cau Gie, Cau Gie - Cao Bo routes and the final section of the highway into Hanoi city center, the number of cars is high after midnight. The unit has organized many shifts to be on duty and regulate traffic throughout the night," informed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Thang.

Notably, 15 traffic police teams riding motorbikes along the highway contributed to clearing traffic jams and promptly resolving arising incidents.

The representative of Team 3 analyzed that when the traffic volume increases and the road is full of vehicles, if an accident occurs, it will be very difficult for rescue forces to use cars to reach the scene. Only traffic police teams on motorbikes can be effective, move quickly, and promptly resolve the incident.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Thang cited that on the third day of the Lunar New Year, a 29-seat car had a flat tire and had to stop in the emergency lane of the highway. The traffic police on motorbikes quickly approached, directed traffic, warned from a distance for other vehicles to avoid and helped the driver change the tire.

In addition, the traffic police teams on motorbikes regularly patrolling the emergency lane also remind drivers not to enter this lane to give way to priority vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, traffic police... on duty.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Thang warned that today and February 3, traffic volume on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway will continue to increase, drivers need to pay attention to driving at the correct speed, keeping a safe distance, and following the instructions of the authorities.
