(NLDO)- A male driver in Hanoi was fined more than 20 million VND for covering up letters and numbers on his license plate.
On January 31, news from the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Ministry of Public Security) said that they had drawn up an administrative violation record for Mr. TQT (born in 1988, residing in Dong Da district, Hanoi) for the act of pasting and covering letters and numbers on the license plate.

Earlier, on the morning of January 30, social media posted a photo of a Hyundai Accent car with license plate 30E-2X2.73 with its license plate covered in tape. The online community strongly condemned the driver's violation.
Upon receiving the information, Traffic Police Team No. 4, Hanoi City Police quickly verified, clarified and requested the driver to come to work. The driver was identified as Mr. TQT (born in 1988, residing in Dong Da, Hanoi).
At the police station, Mr. TQT admitted to using tape to cover the number 8 on the license plate, changing the letter F to the letter E to avoid being fined when participating in traffic. The car was identified as having the license plate 30F-2X2.73.
Based on the verification documents, Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 has drawn up an administrative violation report against Mr. TQT, due to the act of pasting or covering letters and numbers on the license plate, and temporarily confiscated his driver's license for processing.
According to Decree 168/2024, the above violations will be fined from 20 to 26 million VND and have 6 points deducted from the driver's license.
