Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with leaders of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic

On February 5, at the headquarters of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (VNVNONN) - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister - Chairwoman of the Committee Le Thi Thu Hang had a meeting with a number of leaders of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic.

Mr. Tran Van Dang, Chairman of the Federation, on behalf of the Federation's leaders, expressed his honor and gratitude and wished to continue receiving the attention of the VNVNONN Committee for the work of the Federation.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang wished overseas Vietnamese a Happy New Year on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty, inquired about the situation of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, and congratulated those selected by the community to the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2024-2029 term.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister announced that major activities organized by the VNVNONN Committee and domestically will have the participation of overseas Vietnamese in 2025 associated with major events of the country, notably the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30.

In the coming time, the Deputy Minister said that the VNVNONN Committee will actively coordinate with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to successfully organize the upcoming National Great Unity Day held in Prague, Czech Republic; affirming that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for NVNONN are always ready to support and accompany the people and will continue to have many initiatives and innovations in work to better meet the needs and aspirations of the people.

The Federation of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic was established in 1999 with the original name of the Association of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. The Federation held its 7th Congress in December 2024 and elected an Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 term with 123 members. The Federation currently has 13 member associations, 67 provincial associations and district branches.
