The construction and formation of anchorage areas play a very important role in seafood trading as well as ensuring the safety of ships taking shelter during storms. However, at Cua Nhuong anchorage area, there is a situation where ships are gradually deteriorating and damaged after a long period of inactivity, but there is no solution to handle it. This not only affects the environment but also causes many consequences.

Some local fishermen said that after old boats are no longer in use, people pull them ashore, remove the machinery and throw away the hull. Because the boats are built from wood such as: tau, cang le, etc., the time for decomposition is very long.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - a fisherman in Xuan Bac village (Cam Nhuong commune) said: "The floating ship wrecks at the anchorage have existed for a long time, this greatly affects the docking and trading of people, especially during the rainy season or stormy seas, when the number of ships coming to take shelter is large".

It is known that the whole Cam Nhuong commune currently has more than 250 fishing boats. With a large number of boats, not counting those from other provinces coming to take shelter, refuel or sell seafood, cleaning up the wrecks of "ghost" boats is necessary.

In the coming time, local authorities will work with households whose boats have sunk or been abandoned for a long time in the anchorage area to come up with a salvage plan, creating a clear channel for fishermen to safely enter and anchor as well as overcome the environmental pollution situation.
