In the early morning of April 26, U23 Indonesia created an earthquake in this year's U23 Asia when they eliminated U23 Korea to enter the semi-finals in their first participation.
Although surprising, this is a worthy result after the performance of coach Shin Tae Yong's team. Despite being underestimated, U23 Indonesia played with great effort to keep the score at 2-2 after 120 minutes, forcing U23 Korea and U23 Indonesia to decide the winner in a penalty shootout.

U23 Indonesia shockingly defeated Korea, winning a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2024 U23 Asia.
From the 11m penalty spot, the penalty shootout lasted until the 12th round. Ernando excellently blocked 2 shots, thereby helping U23 Indonesia win a ticket to the semi-finals with a score of 11-10.
Coach Shin Tae Yong and his team are close to the Olympic ticket in their first time reaching the semi-finals of the AFC U23 Championship. Indonesia will face the winner of the match between U23 Uzbekistan and U23 Saudi Arabia.
In the previous match on the night of April 25, U23 Japan defeated host U23 Qatar 4-2 after 120 minutes of intense competition at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
Fuki Yamada helped Japan U23 get off to a perfect start with a goal in the 2nd minute, but could not protect the result when Ahmed Al-Rawi headed home the equalizer 1-1 for Qatar U23 in the 24th minute.

Playing with more players, U23 Japan defeated U23 Qatar in the quarter-finals of the Asian tournament.
U23 Qatar even took the lead 2-1 in the 49th minute through Jassem Gaber, despite having to play with one less player since the 41st minute because goalkeeper Youssef Abdullah received a direct red card.
However, playing with one less player put U23 Qatar under a lot of pressure and allowed the opponent to equalize 2-2 in the 67th minute by Seiji Kimura.
This result forced the two teams into extra time and during that time, Japan U23 had two goals from Mao Hosoya and Kotaro Uchino to win 4-2 overall.
In the semi-finals, U23 Japan will meet the winner of the quarter-final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Iraq.
According to the schedule, tonight and early tomorrow morning, the remaining two quarter-final matches will continue to take place and determine the remaining two teams in the semi-finals. At 0:30 on April 27, U23 Vietnam will face U23 Iraq. Before that, at 21:00 on April 26, U23 Saudi Arabia will face U23 Uzbekistan.
