As the champion of the 2023 National Women's Football Championship, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club 1 has the right to represent Vietnamese football at the Asian Cup C1 for women's football. The Southeast team will go straight to the group stage to compete with 11 other teams for the championship title.

The group stage of the 2024/2025 AFC Women's Cup will take place from October 6-12. Ho Chi Minh City 1 Club will host one group and will play all three matches at home. Before that, the qualifying round will take place at the end of August.

Today, the AFC will conduct the draw for the main round as well as the qualifying round. Before the draw, North Korean club - Naegohyang withdrew, so the tournament will be reduced to 21 teams. 8 teams will be entered directly and 13 clubs will have to go through the qualifying round to find the last 4 spots to participate in the main round.

As the second seed and host of Group 1, Ho Chi Minh City Club 1 will certainly avoid opponents Wuhan Jiangda (China), Incheon Red Angels (Korea), Kaya–Iloilo (Philippines) and College of Asian Scholars (Thailand).

By going straight to the group stage, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and her team are sure to earn 100,000 USD (equivalent to about 2.5 billion VND). This is the largest bonus that a women's club in Vietnam has ever received in history. If there are draws and wins in the group stage, the amount that TP.HCM 1 receives will be even larger.

This is the motivation for Ho Chi Minh City 1 to compete with all their might in the continental arena when the prize money for the winning team of the annual National Women's Football Championship is only 500 million VND.
