Reporting on the region's development situation, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that the economic growth rate (GRDP) in 2024 of the Mekong Delta region will reach 7.31%, higher than the national average growth rate (about 7%), ranking 4th out of 6 economic regions.

Some localities have quite good growth rates, such as Kien Giang (7.5%), Long An (8.3%), Hau Giang (8.76%), typically Tra Vinh with a growth rate of 10.04%.
