During the hot summer days, many Ha Tinh residents go to rivers and streams to cool off. Alarmingly, many teenagers go swimming in areas with warning signs and drowning accidents have occurred.
Video: Despite warning signs, many Phuc Trach teenagers still carelessly bathe in the river.
In the summer, every afternoon, at the Ngan Sau River section passing through village 6, Phuc Trach commune (Huong Khe), many teenagers come to swim without life buoys or life jackets. Not only that, many young people also "perform" the dangerous act of jumping from the bridge into the river.
The Ngan Sau River section through village 6, Phuc Trach commune is a deep, dangerous water area; despite warning signs, many people still swim here without life jackets.
It is worth mentioning that this is a dangerous river section, and the People's Committee and the Phuc Trach Commune Youth Union have posted warning signs "Dangerous deep water area, beware of drowning".
Ms. NTM - a local resident said: "About 2 years ago, a little girl drowned in this river. At the end of April, a primary school student also drowned, fortunately a union official promptly rescued her to safety. Therefore, when I saw children bathing here, I was very scared. I also told my child to only let him go swimming when he had a life jacket and was accompanied by an adult."
Some people even jumped from the bridge into the river, which is very dangerous.
Although there are signs prohibiting swimming and warning of deep water, every afternoon, Ke Go Lake in Cam My Commune (Cam Xuyen) becomes a destination for many people, especially teenagers in the area and nearby. Most children do not have life jackets when swimming here, which poses a risk of drowning accidents.
According to locals, the space here is large, the water is cool, and there is no charge for bathing, so a large number of people come here.
Despite the prohibition sign, many people, especially children, still swim in Ke Go Lake.
In addition to the efforts and participation of authorities and organizations, each citizen, especially adults, needs to proactively raise their own awareness, especially by being well-equipped with safety equipment and improving drowning prevention skills to avoid unfortunate accidents that may occur; at the same time, set an example and educate children to stay away from dangerous areas that have been warned.
