VN-Index returns to 1,200 point mark

Stocks rose sharply as green spread across the market, VN-Index closed above 1,200 points, no bluechip codes decreased in price.

Today's trading session opened cautiously as this is the last week before the September 2nd holiday. VN-Index slightly exceeded the reference after ATO but the increase was not too strong. Most leading groups such as banking and real estate kept a tight trading pace.

The sideways movement continued until the early afternoon session, after which cash flow began to increase. Some real estate and banking stocks approached the ceiling price, the increase range of the rest also widened. The HoSE index continued to rise, closing at the highest level of the day.

VN-Index closed today at 1,201.72 points, up 18.35 points (1.55%) from the previous session, the strongest increase in more than 5 months. VN30-Index increased more than 19 points (1.63%) to 1,213.4 points. On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, HNX-Index and UPCOM-Index increased nearly 1%.

Green dominated the market, with 419 stocks increasing compared to only 90 stocks decreasing. In the VN30 group, no bluechips closed the session in red.

The stocks with the strongest increase in the large-cap group were BCM and VNM, with an amplitude of over 4%, FPT, VRE, HPG increased by over 3%, GVR, MWG exceeded the reference by more than 2%. VIC, GAS, STB, PLX added nearly 2% in market value.

The mid-cap group also traded actively with many stocks approaching the ceiling price. In the real estate group, QCG was in a "blank sell" state, DXG increased by more than 5%, DIG, CII, SCR, NBB remained green at the end of the session. EIB attracted investors' attention when it closed up by more than 6%, with liquidity of more than 10 million shares.

Total market liquidity reached over VND22,600 billion. Of which, liquidity on the HoSE floor reached nearly VND19,800 billion, down slightly compared to the session at the end of last week. Foreign investors net bought nearly VND130 billion today.
