In the coming time, Vietnam and China will sign a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of press information and foreign information.
On the morning of September 23, in Da Nang City, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung received Mr. Sun Yeli, Director of the Information Office of the State Council of China. At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung thanked the Chinese delegation for attending the AMRI 16 conference, as well as taking the time for the two sides to have a working session. The Minister said that the success of the AMRI 16 conference this time had great contributions from the dialogue countries China, Japan and Korea. According to the Minister, China is a great friend of Vietnam and wishes to hear about the sharing of digital technology issues, especially information management in cyberspace and cross-border platforms. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung received Mr. Sun Yeli, Director of the Information Office of the State Council of China Mr. Sun Yeli said that he was very happy to meet Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and thanked Vietnam for its warm welcome. “Attending this conference, I also met with a number of ministers from other countries and realized the importance of media for the country's development, especially at a time when technology is developing. I know that Vietnam also has a unit that implements cyberspace management and so does China. I hope that based on those foundations, the two countries will cooperate and exchange more on this issue in the future,” Mr. Sun Yeli shared. At the same time, Mr. Sun Yeli hopes that the two countries will soon promote the signing of a new memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation in the fields of press information and foreign information. Mr. Sun Yeli hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam and China will promote cooperation in the field of information and communication. In the past, in the field of information and communication, Vietnam and China have not cooperated much, not commensurate with the level of the relationship between the two countries. The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications is managing two fields, including post and telecommunications, digital technology and press and television. In the field of information and press, the two countries have a memorandum of understanding. In November 2023, the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications will visit China. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung proposed that during that visit, the two countries will sign a memorandum of understanding on media cooperation exchanges, creating a basis for implementing more cooperation activities in the coming time. In addition, the agencies of the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Information Office of the State Council of China will make a two-year cooperation program and can sign it in November 2023, from this cooperation program, the two countries will discuss specific tasks. In response to the proposals of Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, Mr. Sun Yeli agreed and said that the two sides will complete the memorandum of understanding for signing in November 2023. From there, it will serve as a basis for developing detailed plans to promote cooperation in the field of information and communications.
