Speaking at the announcement ceremony of the plan to resume flights in the Vietnamese market, jointly organized by Thai Airways and Huong Giang Aviation Services Co., Ltd. (HG Aviation) on the afternoon of October 25 in Hanoi, Director of the National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh affirmed that Vietnam and Thailand have a close relationship, and the two sides always support each other in multilateral tourism forums.

The tourism industries of the two countries have implemented many cooperation programs and coordinated in joint marketing activities to attract tourists from third countries to travel to both Vietnam and Thailand....

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasized that tourism plays an important role in the economic growth of Thailand as well as many countries in the ASEAN region. Vietnam's tourism industry has learned a lot of experience from Thailand in product development and destination promotion.

In the first 10 months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed about 10 million international visitors, including about 500,000 Thai visitors. During the same period, about 900,000 Vietnamese visitors came to Thailand.

From October 29, Thai Airways will operate flights between Bangkok (Thailand) and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with a frequency of 4 flights/day, providing business and economy class services.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh said that Vietnam's tourism industry has learned a lot of experience from Thailand.

The Director of the National Tourism Administration emphasized that Thai Airways' restoration of flights to Vietnam is of great significance in promoting economic growth and tourism between the two countries, enhancing the exchange of visitors in both directions and with third countries. Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh also expected the two sides to coordinate to deploy inter-regional tourism products, connecting the two countries to one destination based on the strengths of tourism in both countries to jointly promote the market, attracting tourists from third countries to visit Thailand and Vietnam as well as countries in the region on Thai Airways' flights.

Mr. Ngo Minh Duc, Chairman of HG Aviation, said that to promote tourism exploitation between the two sides, Thai Airways will have preferential policies and closely cooperate with Vietnamese tourism businesses, especially travel agencies, to have reasonable tourism experience programs for Vietnamese tourists.

In addition, the company will increase promotion, upgrade service quality, and serve customers. In addition to the traditional market, the company will aim to develop the MICE market (tourism combined with conferences, seminars, and events).

Mr. Karakot Chatasingha, Commercial Director of Thai Airways International, added that the reopening of flights will help the number of two-way visitors between the two countries grow strongly in the coming time. In 2024, it is expected that there will be about 1 to 1.5 million Thai visitors to Vietnam.
