On December 16, Tay Ninh Provincial Police held a conference to review the results of cooperation in crime prevention and control, ensuring security and order in border areas in 2024 with the Police Departments of Svay Rieng and Tboung Khmum provinces (Cambodia).
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Trai, Director of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, said that in recent times, Tay Ninh Police and the Police Departments of Svay Rieng and Tboung Khmum provinces have actively coordinated and supported each other in handling many issues related to crime, security and order in the border area. Tay Ninh province is often chosen as the starting and ending point of transnational crime rings; the situation of Vietnamese people being lured by online gambling crime rings to Cambodia to do "easy work with high salaries", working and residing illegally occurs frequently, causing public confusion...
According to Colonel Nguyen Van Trai, up to now, hundreds of cases have been handled, deported and returned to Vietnam by Cambodian authorities through the province's border gates. Especially, near Tet, criminal activities, especially smuggling, transporting prohibited goods, and illegal entry and exit across the border will increase and become more complicated, requiring the police forces of both sides to focus on directing and coordinating to resolve the issue.

Lieutenant General Chen Ny also expressed gratitude to Tay Ninh Police for supporting the Cambodian fire prevention and fighting force in the fire of a 7-storey building on November 3 in Tropeng Phlong commune, Ponhia Kret district, helping to limit damage to people and property.
Lieutenant General Pich Vireak, Chief of the Svay Rieng Provincial Police Department, requested the Tay Ninh Police Department to increase the provision of information on human trafficking, weapons trafficking, drugs and other transnational crimes. He also emphasized the importance of disseminating and educating the people of the two countries about border regulations and new criminal methods such as high-tech crimes and cybercrimes. The Svay Rieng Provincial Police Department will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department in preventing and suppressing all types of crimes, building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and mutually developing border.
Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh said that in recent times, the Tay Ninh Provincial Police force and the Police Departments of Tboung Khmum and Svay Rieng provinces have implemented the spirit of cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (Vietnam) and the Ministry of Interior (Cambodia), contributing to maintaining stability, security and order on the border and inland.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to increase information exchange in crime prevention and control, especially transnational crimes, terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, cybercrime, illegal immigration, etc. Provincial police actively investigate and clarify cases, arrest wanted criminals, and violators of Vietnamese and Cambodian laws, in order to build a stable border, contributing to ensuring a peaceful, secure and developing environment in the region.
