The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just approved the acceptance of the project "Supporting children with treatment of genitourinary diseases" sponsored by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIPF) and the project "Educating knowledge about school nutrition for private kindergartens in the city" sponsored by Nagasaki University, Japan.
According to Decision No. 182/QD-UBND approving the acceptance of the project "Supporting pediatric patients in the treatment of genitourinary diseases" at Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital sponsored by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIPF) with a total value of more than 326 million VND (equivalent to 13,000 USD).

The project will be implemented from January 2025 to December 2027, with the goal of ensuring that 100% of children with congenital or accidental genitourinary diseases who receive treatment and surgery at the Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital will have all costs covered in addition to health insurance. In particular, disadvantaged families will be supported with travel and living expenses during examination and treatment.
Specifically, each year, 1-2 rounds of examination and surgery will be organized for children with these diseases. Each round is expected to examine 40-50 children, of which 15-20 cases will be operated on. About 75% of children from poor families will be supported with travel and living expenses.
According to Decision No. 275/QD-UBND approving the acceptance of the non-project on Training knowledge on school nutrition for private kindergartens in the city, sponsored by Nagasaki University, Japan with a total aid of more than 244 million VND. The project will be implemented from January to March 2025 to improve the capacity of cooking staff in private kindergartens in the city.

This project aims to support the Da Nang City Department of Education to improve the quality of care and nurturing services for preschool children in private preschools. The project also targets the cooking staff in private preschools to improve their qualifications and skills in designing and preparing meals for children.
Specifically, the project helps cooking staff gain in-depth understanding and apply well the knowledge of nutrition and principles in building balanced menus, ensuring adequate nutrition for children and students. Have good skills in preparing nutritious food for children and students; coordinate smoothly with colleagues between stages and chains in food processing for children and students.
Master the principles of operating a scientific one-way kitchen; ensure safety at work; have knowledge in building menus and coordinating diverse regional foods. Understand clearly your responsibility in taking care of children's daily meals.
In addition, the project will organize a training course to improve knowledge about nutrition and school health for private kindergartens with 200 students in a combination of online and in-person formats.
