Car damage due to using wrong fuel
Euro 5 emission standard diesel engines can suffer serious damage when drivers use the wrong fuel.
According to Mr. Dang Hung, a service consultant at a Toyota dealer in Hanoi, using the wrong fuel (Euro 4 or lower) for a Euro 5 vehicle can damage some parts such as: DPF, three-way catalytic converter, mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensor, exhaust gas recirculation sensor.
Euro 5 emission compliant diesel engines can be damaged by filling with the wrong fuel.
When there is a problem, the vehicle will show symptoms such as: Abnormal white exhaust smoke, DPF warning light not on...
In addition, systems such as injectors, fuel filters and many other parts can also be damaged. At this time, in addition to affecting engine operation, replacement and repair costs will be very expensive.
Standard fuel will help the engine operate efficiently.
Euro 5 emission standards are always a challenge for diesel engines, as achieving this standard requires diesel engines to be upgraded in technology to limit the emission of toxic gases and dust causing pollution.
Diesel engines need to be upgraded in both hardware and software. Hardware requires the engine to be upgraded in terms of injector system, exhaust system, catalyst, etc.
Software requires the computer control system to calculate more accurately the intake, compression, explosion, and exhaust cycles of the engine, optimizing the combustion process so as not to release excess fuel mixture into the environment. However, to work effectively, diesel engines also need standard fuel.
Using DO-V fuel will help the engine operate more efficiently.
In the announcement of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation, NOx emissions from DO-V fuel (clean fuel level V) decreased by 64% compared to DO-III fuel, other emissions decreased by about 67%, and dust emissions decreased by about 93%.
With reduced toxic substances and dust emissions, the systems will work more easily and efficiently. For example, with 93% less dust emissions compared to DO-III fuel, using DO-V fuel will help the DPF filter easily burn dust particles completely, limiting filter clogging.
Parts such as injectors, fuel filters, and exhaust gas recirculation valves will also reduce working pressure when the amount of dust is reduced. Black soot sticking to the combustion chamber and exhaust pipe will also be limited.
Not only engines that meet Euro 5 emission standards, but also engines that meet lower emission standards, will be efficient when using DO-V fuel, and emissions of toxic gases and dust will also be reduced.
Up to now, the system of gas stations distributing Euro 5 Diesel fuel has covered all 63 provinces and cities across the country, making access to this fuel source easier and more convenient for users.
