The new generation iPad Pro has started to hit the shelves in the Vietnamese market after more than a month of its global launch. This is the biggest upgrade of the high-end iPad line since 2015, bringing a slimmer design, stronger configuration and a more beautiful screen.

The iPad Pro 2024 is considered to have more advantages than its competitors and also has the highest price in Vietnam. The 13-inch version (pictured) starts at 36.9 million VND, much more than many 13-inch laptops with good configuration. The highest-end model, the iPad Pro M4 13-inch 5G 2 TB Nano, costs 74.5 million VND. In addition, the accompanying accessories such as the Magic Keyboard cost nearly 10 million VND or the Pencil Pro pen cost 3.5 million VND.

According to statistics from market research firms, except for the low-cost segment, the iPad has almost no competitors globally as well as in Vietnam in terms of sales. The goal of the iPad in recent years has been to "conquer itself" when it wants to attract more users, especially those who are used to using laptops for work. As for the iPad Pro line, Apple targets professional users, especially content creators, graphic designers, etc.

The first advantage of the new iPad Pro is its light weight, the 13-inch version is 579 grams, a significant reduction from the 685 grams of the old 12.9 version. Long-term use still requires two hands to hold, but it is more comfortable than the previous generation. If you include the Magic Keyboard, the product weighs about 1.2 kg, equivalent to a 13-inch laptop model, but has the advantage of convenience, quick keyboard removal depending on the usage situation.

In addition, the iPad Pro 2024 also has a protective glass etched with a nano-texture to reduce glare and scatter less ambient light. However, users will spend nearly 3 million VND more and only for the 1 and 2 TB versions.

The iPad Pro 2024 is also thinner than the previous generation, from 6.4 to 5.1 mm. This is also the thinnest device Apple has ever produced. However, the design is too thin, causing concerns about the possibility of warping during use. The body is made of aluminum and is made from 100% recyclable materials. The product has two color options: silver and traditional dark gray.

The USB-C port supports Thunderbolt 4 on the iPad Pro and the four-speaker stereo system provides very good sound quality similar to the 2022 version. The device uses a Li-Po battery with a capacity of 31.29 Wh on the 11-inch version and 38.99 Wh on the 13-inch version.

Switching to OLED panels brings many advantages to the iPad Pro. In addition to a thinner and lighter structure, this technology also improves display quality compared to microLED - which is also a high-end line on the old version. When choosing the iPad Pro 2024, buyers are no longer "discriminated" like the old generation because all have OLED panels instead of just the large screen version having a higher-end panel.

Testing the maximum brightness on both iPad Pro versions, the higher brightness of the 2024 model can be clearly seen thanks to the parallel OLED display technology (Tandem OLED), meaning two OLED panels are stacked on top of each other to increase brightness, up to 1,000 nits for the whole screen and 1,600 nits for HDR content.

In addition to higher brightness, OLED also brings absolute black. In real life, the iPad Pro 2022 still feels light gray in black areas while the iPad Pro 2024 is completely black. The contrast on the new version is also significantly better.

Like the 10th generation iPad, the iPad Pro changes the position of the front camera to the center of the horizontal edge. This helps users have a more natural angle when using calling and meeting software - the advantage is that the device is closer to being used as a normal laptop. The switch to the side also supports more convenient Face ID operation, less covered by fingers when operating the power button like the previous generation.

Pencil Pro has its own menu system in iPad settings for users to customize according to usage situations.

With the new Pencil Pro, Apple shows that it can surpass Samsung - a major competitor and also a leading manufacturer in integrating pens into mobile devices such as phones and tablets.

Apple's new pen can help users feel the scrolling and squeezing action to open the menu thanks to the tactile feedback placed at the end of the pen body. Users can open different types of strokes, adjust the size and especially rotate the pen to adjust the rotation angle of the stroke, increasing creativity.

Pencil Pro has its own menu system in the iPad settings for users to customize according to specific usage situations and tasks. The pen still uses the magnetic charging method on the top edge. The price of the pen is 3.5 million VND, not too high compared to the current general level, like the Xiaomi Pad pen is more than 2 million VND. Pencil Pro supports the Find My search feature

The new Magic Keyboard has an aluminum surface instead of the old silicone. The key size is the same as before, but there is an additional row of function buttons above and a larger touchpad. Typing is not much different, but the larger touchpad provides a more comfortable, laptop-like experience. However, the new Magic Keyboard cannot be used with the iPad Pro 2022 and vice versa.

The biggest hardware upgrade is the introduction of the all-new M4 chip, ahead of the MacBook line. With the M4, the machine handles CPU tasks 50% faster and GPU is four times faster than the M2 chip. Users have the maximum choice of M4 chip with 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores on the iPad Pro.

This processor is still manufactured on the 3nm process like the M3, providing the same performance as the M2 chip but consuming half the power. Apple also mentioned a lot about the M4's AI processing ability when used with new applications like Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro. The company said the AI ​​processing ability is up to 38 TOPS, higher than all the NPUs currently available in Intel and AMD chips. Qualcomm recently announced that the Snapdragon X Elite has 45 TOPS of power but has not officially sold it.

The iPad Pro comes with its own 30W charger and a USB-C double-sided braided cable. Thanks to the new hardware, the device is compatible with all the smart AI features of Apple Intelligence that were just introduced at the WWDC 2024 event on June 11.

The iPad Pro will have its first official calculator app and impressive real-time math and function drawing features. In addition, users can also perform operations such as removing unwanted objects in photos, automatically identifying important notifications and messages, summarizing email content, and rewriting paragraphs.
