MacBook Pro M4 to launch in late 2024?

Researcher Ross Young said that shipments of new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro display models will begin in the third quarter, and the new MacBook models are expected to launch later this year.

Previously, Mark Gurman (journalist of Bloomberg) also revealed that Apple is accelerating the development of the next generation M4 chip. This chip line is expected to be equipped on Macs launched later this year and is designed to highlight AI processing capabilities.

MacBook Pro M4 to launch in late 2024?

Apple introduced its M4 chip in new iPad Pro models back in April and is now actively working on integrating it into MacBook Pro models. Apple is reportedly set to refresh both the MacBook Pro and Mac mini lineup this year (via Mark Gurman).

The M4 chip is expected to still use TSMC's 3nm process, possibly using an enhanced version to improve performance and save energy. In addition, Apple plans to significantly improve the Neural Engine, potentially increasing the number of cores dedicated to AI tasks.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to get the M4 chip, while the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will get the M4 Pro and M4 Max. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro models won't get the M4 chip until 2025.

The M4 chip is said to be the most impressive upgrade on the upcoming MacBook Pro models.
