Reading the publication "Father, son with current events" published by the Information and Communication Publishing House of Xuan Tuu - Tri Thuc, I was filled with old memories with journalist Xuan Tuu and loved journalist Tri Thuc (Xuan Tuu's youngest son) even more...

Xuan Tuu and I, both teachers, joined Vinh Phuc Newspaper. The publication "Father, Son with the Times", Mr. Xuan Tuu with 32 articles, sometimes as periodicals, sometimes as short stories, neatly arranged in the column: Things We See. Most of the articles were written when Phu Tho - Vinh Phuc merged into Vinh Phu in the 80s and 90s of the last century. I love the articles written in the distant past; the time when there were thousands of things lacking, all the work was done thanks to passion, diligence and patience... That means to be a journalist one must have a keen eye, love people, love the profession, love the people, love the Party, love the homeland... Xuan Tuu is deeply imbued with that. He always went with his colleagues, came, thought, wrote even very short articles based on what he saw, printed them in newspapers, kept them and included them in the book's column. It sounds simple, but it is a way of looking at, exploiting, considering, deciding to spread the news and keep them. The 32 articles are about issues around him, about humanity, about life, about current events. If he did not do well, he would be guilty towards the people and the country.

For example, he wrote “Should IUDs be placed on men?”. That was a story at the Department of Industry. The unit had 7 women, of whom 2 were past childbearing age. The number of people eligible for childbearing was only 2. So the quota for IUDs was 3. Yet the Viet Tri Health Department assigned the department a quota of 13 IUDs (in 1986)!... He criticized the bureaucratic, arbitrary, laughable and bitter habit!... He exposed the story of “Prohibiting vehicles on the dike during storms”, but if you pay a fee of 3,000 VND (with receipt), any vehicle will go!... The author mocked the money-mindedness through the article “Who to invite?” by a high-ranking official, who organized a wedding for his child but only invited financially well-off people to receive congratulatory gifts; close people such as teachers, medical staff, and engineers were completely absent!...

That is, following the flow of events in that distant time, Xuan Tuu saw so many injustices, bureaucracy, corruption, negativity, irresponsibility in many fields, sectors, levels... with the responsibility of journalism, he "strike"! Although written in the form of anecdotes, gently... but painful, bitter, deeply penetrating the honor!

It must be said that Tri Thuc is a successful journalist. People often tell his parents, Xuan Tuu and Cam Tu, online: "The family is blessed!"... Tri Thuc is a young but very energetic journalist, rich in talent, travels a lot, writes a lot, writes well. Lives sincerely with everyone in a respectful manner. Rich in emotions and very responsible for family, parents, wife and children as is the norm in life... Colleagues and the public know Tri Thuc not only for his articles but also as a person with a degree, teaching journalism in many localities in the country...

His “heart-wrenching decline” kept me reading, forgetting that I was 85 years old and my eyes were dim. He wrote short essays, political essays, and anecdotes criticizing all kinds of things and fields from the big shots; from the Central, local, industry, level, ministry, board... causing crimes, bad things, mistakes; breaking the law... The author said everything clearly, cited everything clearly, with reason, emotion, and rigor! Similar to Xuan Tuu's father, most of Tri Thuc's criticisms were visible. But his advantage over us was that the times and current events were developing and changing strongly... That is, helping to grasp information quickly, diversely, and from many perspectives; with a scientific mindset, Tri Thuc chose information materials, wrote, and quoted accurately, leaving precious trust for readers. Moreover, he had a very standard view, way of looking, choosing details, circumstances, and observations of journalism. As a journalist, an observer, a person who "steers" a press publication, one should always have a way of writing, a way of deciding to publish news in the right place, at the right time... The 32 articles in the collection speak for themselves... The article "The medicine to cure the disease of flattery" gently analyzes the habit of flattery, sycophancy... in the collective agency that needs to be prevented. The article "Awakening the conscience of the smell of money" he leads to criticize many bad habits of creating food to make money during Tet, which is a blind eye to poisoning one's fellow countrymen...

After each criticism, the author, like a good doctor, points out effective treatments. For example, the article "The dangers of "fake people" clearly states: "If society remains indifferent to the dangers of "fake people", I'm afraid that the risk of fading faith, discouragement, indifference, and retreat before the bad, the negative, and the "eye-sore" will continue to occur. Therefore, the fight against "fake people" is more important and urgent than the fight against fake goods"! He emphasizes the reality of people and leaders: "That external appearance can be a beautiful house, a luxury car, branded goods, academic titles, degrees, and diplomas. But what's inside is important and decisive, because it is intelligence, morality, the desire to contribute, and puts the interests of the collective and the people first. If red is not necessarily ripe, it is fake red..." (Fake red and beautiful appearance)...

64 articles in the book, read and think, the father and son journalists Xuan Tuu - Tri Thuc wholeheartedly tell the readers: The precious thing of a person is honor, is to live well, to be beautiful, for ourselves and for society to improve day by day. The determination to fight corruption of our Party and State is "no forbidden areas, no exceptions, no matter who that person is"...
