(NLDO) - 2025 is the year of accelerating key transport projects, with many inter-regional connection works, of special significance to Ho Chi Minh City.
In information about a series of traffic projects in Ho Chi Minh City that are about to start construction after the Tet holiday, Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), said that 2025 will be the year of inter-regional traffic connection projects, with the construction progress of many important projects being accelerated.
Beltway 3, the section through Ho Chi Minh City, will be accelerated, with the western 14.7km section opening to traffic by the end of 2025.
According to Mr. Phuc, the Ring Road 3 project will be constructed quickly and by the end of 2025, 14.7km of the western part of Ho Chi Minh City will be open to traffic. On April 30, 2025, Ring Road 3 will be connected to the Nhon Trach Bridge bid package in Dong Nai. In the same year, the Ring Road 2 project (section 1, phase 2) will be started, while the Ring Road 4 project will be submitted for approval.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project will also start construction this year. Inner-city traffic projects, including Nguyen Khoi Street Bridge, Ton That Thuyet Street and steel overpasses, will be vigorously implemented.
2025 is also the year the city focuses resources, achieving specific results of Resolution 98 in 5 gateway BOT projects, Can Gio bridge, Thu Thiem 4 bridge, elevated roads, which have special significance for Ho Chi Minh City in general and the transport sector in particular.
During Tet this year, although many projects have been accelerated and completed before Tet, two important projects are still being maintained during Tet: 10 packages of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project and 6 packages of the An Phu intersection.
Mr. Phuc emphasized: "At a time when everyone is reunited with their families to celebrate Tet, but workers and engineers accept a Tet away from home, this sacrifice is very big. The Traffic Department and units have implemented many policies to visit, encourage and appreciate that sacrifice. This is a special gift from traffic engineers to the people of the city on the occasion of Tet At Ty."
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong emphasized the important role of 2025 - the last year of the 2021-2025 term - in accelerating the progress and completion of key traffic projects, contributing to solving traffic pressure and serving socio-economic development.
Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong said that the working groups supporting resettlement and public investment need to actively disburse investment capital. Capital for compensation and resettlement support accounts for 40%-60% of the total capital of recent projects. Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong also requested the Traffic Department to learn from experience in managing progress and coordinating between contractors. Problems such as the lack of stone materials in projects such as Tang Long Bridge, Thu Duc City need to be thoroughly resolved.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong expressed his gratitude to residents and businesses for supporting compensation and resettlement work, so that projects can continue to be implemented in the future.
"We expect investors and departments to start construction right after Tet to carry out registered projects, especially those on the occasion of April 30, 2025," concluded Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong.
Ho Chi Minh City completes 20 projects and packages for the year of the Dragon
Up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and related units have basically completed 20 bidding packages and key traffic works to serve people before the Lunar New Year 2025.
Of these, 7 projects were rushed into operation before the recent Lunar New Year, including:
Tan Binh District: Expanding Hoang Hoa Tham Street, connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa Street (phase 1).
Thu Duc City: Expanding Luong Dinh Cua Street (phase 1).
District 7: Upgrading Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection.
Binh Tan District: Tan Ky Tan Quy Bridge, Ba Hom Bridge.
Go Vap District: Expanding Duong Quang Ham Street (phase 1).
The completed projects contribute to solving traffic congestion, connecting urban infrastructure, creating momentum for socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.
