Seminar on solutions for sustainable durian development in Dak Nong

On April 18, in Gia Nghia City, a seminar was held on solutions for sustainable durian development, meeting export standards in Dak Nong.

This is one of the activities during the week of the Agricultural Fair and Supply-Demand Connection in the Central Highlands - Dak Nong 2025.

The seminar was organized by Dak Nong Farmers' Association in coordination with Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association and Asia Media and Exhibition Company Limited.

Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi (standing and speaking), Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, informed about Vietnamese durian being officially exported to the Chinese market.

At the seminar, scientists , managers, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers discussed solutions to remove barriers in the management, production, distribution, and consumption of durian in Dak Nong.

Accordingly, farmers, cooperatives, businesses and clubs need to promote durian production in a concentrated direction, meeting market quality standards.

Mr. Ho Gam, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Farmers' Association shared that durian growers should establish clubs, cooperatives, and cooperative groups and produce according to market standards required for export.

In durian production and processing, it is necessary to apply high technology, organic agriculture associated with tourism and value chains to increase product value and promote exports.

People have expressed their wish that the State should properly manage the quality of agricultural materials and facilitate durian growers in inspecting product quality.

In 2024, Dak Nong will have about 12,217 hectares of durian, an increase of 1,905 hectares compared to 2023. It is expected that in 2025, Dak Nong will have about 13,480 hectares of durian, of which about 7,180 hectares will be under basic construction and 6,500 hectares will be harvested, with an estimated output of 68,000 tons, an increase of about 1,263 tons compared to 2024.

Dak Nong durian is grown mainly in Gia Nghia city and the districts of Dak R'lap, Tuy Duc, Dak Mil, Dak Song...

Vietnamese durian is allowed to be officially exported to the Chinese market. This has created a great opportunity for durian export nationwide, including Dak Nong.
