School culture: the fundamental factor for successful implementation of Program 06

Fostering patriotism and national pride

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) has actively and proactively advised, issued many plans, and implemented groups of projects and plans.

These include the project "Building a culture of behavior in schools in the period of 2021 - 2025"; the plan to compile and integrate educational content on Hanoi's cultural features into the "Local Education" document set, and conduct mass teaching of the document "Educating elegant and civilized lifestyles for Hanoi high school students"; the plan to deploy mass teaching of the document "Educating elegant and civilized lifestyles" for preschool levels in Hanoi in the period of 2021 - 2025; the plan to compile content and methods of performing folk games to include in the physical education program for high school students.

 

Hanoi currently has a total of 2,913 kindergartens and general schools at all levels; 29 vocational education and continuing education centers with over 2.2 million students and over 70,000 classes. In addition, the city has 105 foreign-invested educational institutions; 9 foreign representative offices; and 1,051 centers of all kinds.

At the same time, the Department of Education and Training has widely and synchronously deployed many educational programs and activities to build an elegant and civilized lifestyle; foster patriotism, national pride, moral ideology and healthy lifestyle for students in the area.

In the 2023-2024 school year alone, the Department of Education and Training has coordinated to organize for over 1,600 students to attend classes to learn about the Party and has trained and recruited 200 new party members. From 2022 to present, 292 new party members have been recruited, equal to more than 10 times the total number of students at schools under the Department admitted in the 12-year period (from 2012 to 2022) of 26 students. Up to now, the number of party members who are students in the entire education and training sector is 318 party members.

Students who are selected to attend training classes to learn about the Party have a clear sense of striving to achieve high results in studying, participating in union activities, cultural movements, arts, physical education, sports, etc.; and making efforts to pass entrance exams to universities and colleges.

Integrating cultural lifestyle education into lessons

After 14 years of implementing the teaching of the document "Educating elegant and civilized lifestyle for Hanoi students", it has contributed to educating students about the necessary attitudes and behaviors in daily life, communication, and conduct to become elegant and civilized students, receiving the unanimous response of many parents.

The education of Hanoians’ cultural lifestyle is organized in a variety of forms, with special attention paid to integrating content into local education lessons. Depending on each level of education, local education content is developed appropriately, meeting the students’ requirements for understanding and application.

In addition, the Education sector also promotes the implementation of Heritage Education Programs with many extracurricular educational activities at historical and cultural sites; organizes extracurricular study tours at historical and cultural sites, and revolutionary resistance sites for students in Hanoi. Thereby, contributing to the education of ethics, lifestyle, cultural values ​​and ethical standards; forming good habits and awareness to perfect students' personalities.

In addition, the Education sector has also stepped up the implementation of plans to organize folk games in schools. Accordingly, schools are assigned to select and apply games suitable for age, gender, grade level, and physical facilities of the unit to enhance traditional cultural education...

Many meaningful movements build an elegant and civilized lifestyle

In the recent period, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has launched many practical and meaningful movements. The highlight is the movement "Schools join hands to develop - Teachers share responsibility" for the period 2022 - 2025, which has been actively responded to by districts, towns, and schools.

From the practical implementation of the movement to build an elegant and civilized lifestyle, many schools in the city have also had good and effective ways of doing things, launching many meaningful movements such as: "Forever the beauty of elegance and civilization" movement; "Capital students speak good words, do good deeds"; "3 xin" movement (hello, sorry, thank you), "Think carefully, speak slowly, act immediately" movement; "Develop reading culture"; "Greetings to Trang An people"; the initiative to reward "elegant flowers" for each good deed....

"Through the movement activities, we have aroused the pride of generations of teachers and students in the elegant tradition and unique cultural features of Hanoians, while at the same time promoting and raising awareness of the role and responsibility of cadres, teachers and students in building an elegant and civilized lifestyle in the capital," emphasized Director of the Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong.

Not only does it continue to lead the country in the quality of comprehensive education, key education, and the number of students achieving high scores in national and international competitions for excellent students; the discipline and order of students in the Capital Education sector are also maintained. From there, a civilized and healthy educational environment is built, enhancing patriotism and national pride among students.

 

Hanoi continues to innovate and promote the effectiveness of educating elegant and civilized lifestyles associated with life values ​​education for students in general schools. The quality of cultural models and implementation of codes of conduct in schools is improved through the Project "Building a culture of conduct in schools" and the "Happy School" criteria set.
