The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch to departments, agencies and localities to convey instructions on practicing thrift and combating waste in weddings, funerals, festival organization and anniversaries.

According to the document, in recent times, localities have actively deployed and implemented the work of building a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, organizing festivals, anniversaries and traditional days.
However, this activity still has limitations. The organization of engagement and wedding ceremonies of a number of people, cadres and party members is ostentatious and wasteful, taking place for many days and in many locations, causing disorder in traffic safety and creating negative public opinion in society; superstitious activities such as fortune telling, burning votive papers, scattering gold and money on the funeral procession are still taking place; the number of funeral wreaths is large, causing waste, waste and environmental pollution...
To continue to strictly and effectively implement the regulations of the Central Government and the province on practicing thrift and combating waste in weddings, funerals, organizing festivals and anniversaries in the province; The Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee directed and requested departments, branches and localities to propagate, guide and mobilize cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to raise awareness, voluntarily and actively respond to strictly and effectively implement the provisions of the law on building a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, organizing festivals and anniversaries in the province according to regulations.
It is necessary to strongly condemn and criticize negative manifestations, backward customs and practices, lavish and wasteful forms of organizing weddings, funerals, festivals, and anniversaries, and acts that violate state regulations, community conventions and covenants.
The document emphasizes that in organizing a wedding, it is necessary to organize a joyful, healthy, economical wedding ceremony, in accordance with the fine customs of the nation, the cultural traditions of the locality, ethnicity, religion and in accordance with the family's circumstances; the procedures before and after the wedding ceremony are organized simply and concisely, avoiding ostentation, formality and cumbersomeness.
Strengthen propaganda and encourage the use of wedding announcements instead of wedding invitations and wedding parties; shorten the time of the wedding ceremony, do not organize lavish weddings, do not hold wedding parties many times, do not affect security, order, and traffic safety; the bride, groom and family wear traditional costumes or costumes of their ethnic group on the wedding day; organize tea parties and sweet parties instead of salty parties; organize collective wedding ceremonies for couples at the Cultural House...
The Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested cadres and party members, especially leaders and managers at all levels, to set an example in complying with regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festival organization and anniversaries. If there are weddings, engagements, and funerals that create negative public opinion and cause outrage, the responsibility of cadres, civil servants, public employees and heads of agencies and units will be considered; inspection and examination work will be strengthened, violations will be promptly corrected and handled; and exemplary and excellent collectives and individuals in organizing and implementing the work will be commended and rewarded.

Regarding funeral organization, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested: Organize the funeral thoughtfully, solemnly, compactly, and economically; do not scatter Vietnamese currency or foreign currencies on the funeral procession...
