Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with President of the Polish Senate Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska

On the afternoon of January 17 (local time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the Polish Senate Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska.

At the meeting, Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Poland, affirming that the visit is an important event, contributing to creating a solid foundation to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height; highly appreciating the socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times as well as the increasing role and position of Vietnam in the international arena.

The President of the Polish Senate affirmed that Vietnam is always Poland's priority partner in the region and the Senate supports the Polish Government in developing relations with Vietnam to new heights.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the President of the Senate Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska and senior leaders of Poland for the warm and sincere welcome given to the Vietnamese Government delegation; affirmed that in implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of international relations, Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen cooperation with traditional friends in Central and Eastern Europe, of which Poland is a top priority partner.

Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposal, the President of the Polish Senate affirmed that the Senate supports the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), contributing to facilitating economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations in many important areas and the Friendship Parliamentarians Group with Vietnam is the largest friendship group in the Polish Parliament, demonstrating the importance of relations with Vietnam; they agreed that bilateral relations still have much potential and room for development.

In that spirit, the two sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges at all levels to enhance political trust and promote bilateral relations.

Emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two parliaments in the overall bilateral relationship, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska both supported increasing delegation exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries to share experiences in policy and law making; and promoting close coordination and mutual support at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums to contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Appreciating the results achieved at the talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska affirmed her support for the directions and measures of the two governments to bring the bilateral friendship and cooperation to a new stage of development; welcomed Vietnam's visa exemption for Polish citizens in 2025; agreed to promote cooperation in the fields of education, health, culture, tourism, labor, etc.

The President of the Polish Senate highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Poland for being dynamic, hardworking and making many positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Poland and being a bridge for friendship between the two peoples.

Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, the two sides affirmed to continue close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam supports Poland’s participation in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC). The two sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace and stability and resolving disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed to Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska the invitation to visit Vietnam from National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska happily accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam.
