The 32nd SEA Games gold medalist in mixed doubles, Tran Mai Ngoc, took the field in the second round. The surprise happened when she lost 9-11 to Batmunkh in the first set. However, with her youth and inspiration, Mai Ngoc quickly won the next 3 sets with the scores of 11-8, 11-8 and 11-6 respectively.

In the third match, the scenario continued to repeat itself. The Mongolian athletes could only cause trouble for Vietnam in 1 set. In set 1, Uvgunberged defeated Ngoc Lan with a score of 15-13 but she lost the following sets.

In the end, the Vietnamese women's table tennis team defeated their opponents with a final score of 3-0, thereby achieving their first victory at the 19th ASIAD. Previously, in the first match, there were no surprises when Mai Ngoc and her teammates lost to Japan with a score of 0-3.

The Vietnamese women's table tennis team had 1 loss and 1 win, ranking second in this group after Japan. Mai Ngoc and her teammates won the right to enter the knockout round.
