On the contrary, our two main rivals in Southeast Asia, Indonesia and Thailand, have risen strongly. After the victory over Syria in the King's Cup final, Thailand rose to 96th in the world. This is the highest position of the "War Elephants" after 16 years. They are 23 places ahead of the Vietnamese team. It has been a long time since the "Golden Dragons" have been so far behind their opponents.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's upward streak has only been temporarily interrupted. After a 1-2 loss to China, the team has dropped three places to 130th in the world. Malaysia has also been reduced one place to 133rd in the world after a 0-4 loss to New Zealand. During the national team training session in November, the Vietnamese team did not play. Instead, we went to train in South Korea. That could change our ranking as most of the teams in the world will participate in the series of matches next month. On December 8, the Vietnamese team will begin competing in the AFF Cup. This is the most important tournament of the year for the "Golden Star Warriors".
