Tien Giang Youth: Active and creative for the development of the homeland

In 2024, with the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers", Tien Giang youth have made important contributions to social security, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas and environmental protection. In the past year, the whole province had over 150,000 union members and young people participating in the program "1 day of volunteering every month".

The district level organized 2 rounds of the volunteer campaign "Green Aspiration - for a clean river". The Provincial Youth Union also launched the planting of more than 260,000 new trees, contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful landscape. At the same time, 19,688 children in difficult circumstances were supported, with an amount of over 5 billion VND. In addition, more than 1,000 gifts with a total value of 2 billion VND were presented to young people in difficult circumstances.

Responding to Youth Month 2025, provincial leaders, together with Party members and young people, participated in the technical inauguration ceremony of the rural traffic bridge project - Truong An bridge (Vinh Quoi hamlet, Long Vinh commune, Go Cong Tay district).

In the field of supporting youth start-ups and businesses, the Provincial Youth Union has carried out many practical activities to support young people with creative ideas and a desire to develop the economy. In 2024, the province supported 50 youth start-up projects with an amount of over 2.5 billion VND. The province recorded more than 1,700 ideas and initiatives realized.

In addition, 100% of Districts, Cities, and Towns organized programs and activities to improve digital capacity for youth, improve foreign language skills, and international integration; 75% of Party members and youth used electronic payment accounts to transact on digital platforms. Along with that, 40,000 youth received career counseling, and more than 5,698 youth were introduced to jobs.

The movement “Youth volunteers to protect the Fatherland” continues to be effective. The Youth Union has done a good job of propaganda and mobilizing youth volunteers to join the army. 100% of the district-level Youth Unions have organized military camps. Traditional education activities such as the “Red Address” journey and the “Lighting candles in gratitude” program at the Martyrs’ Cemetery have attracted thousands of youth volunteers to participate.

Activities to educate youth about revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyles have also been promoted. 2,725 Youth Union cadres and 54,675 members have studied and thoroughly understood the Party's resolutions and the State's policies and laws. The movement "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and lifestyle" has spread widely with many activities such as forums, talks, and honoring exemplary youth.

UNION ORGANIZATION - COMPANION OF YOUTH

Despite many encouraging results, the Youth Union in Tien Giang is still facing a number of challenges. Some Youth Union units lack initiative and creativity in implementing tasks, while the mobilization of social resources is still limited. In addition, operating costs are not enough to meet the needs of organizing large-scale movements, especially activities to support start-ups and career development for young people.

In the coming time, Tien Giang Provincial Youth Union will focus on a number of key tasks to improve the quality of Youth Union activities and youth movements. First, training and fostering of Youth Union cadres will be enhanced, aiming to improve the capacity and bravery of young cadres. At the same time, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to promote the youth volunteer movement with many activities closely linked to the practical needs of the locality.

Supporting young people to start and establish businesses will be one of the key tasks of the provincial Youth Union. The Provincial Youth Union plans to expand training programs on entrepreneurial skills and strengthen connections with businesses to create more job opportunities for young people. In addition, solutions to apply digital transformation to Youth Union activities will continue to be strongly implemented, helping to improve the efficiency of activities and access to information for Youth Union members and young people.

In addition, international exchange and cooperation activities will also be promoted to broaden the vision, creating conditions for Tien Giang youth to learn from experience and approach modern development trends. Thereby, the Youth Union will increasingly affirm its role as a trusted companion of youth, contributing to building a dynamic, creative and dedicated generation of Tien Giang youth for the common development of the province.
