The 2024 Lotus Village Festival officially opened on the evening of May 11 at the Lotus Village Stadium (Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District), Nghe An Province.
The 2024 Sen Village Festival will be organized at the provincial level, with the ceremony including the following events: Incense offering ceremony at Uncle Ho's shrine and flower offering in front of Uncle Ho's statue in Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh city) and parade to Uncle Ho's hometown; Flower and incense offering ceremony at Uncle Ho's Memorial House at Kim Lien Special National Relic Site and Chung Son Temple - the ancestral temple of President Ho Chi Minh.
The festival includes activities such as: Cavalry performance, trumpet music, play performance about Uncle Ho; Nghe An Province's Sen Village Singing Festival; Volleyball tournament and Traditional martial arts tournament; Street performance "Lotus blooming season home"; organizing folk games associated with Uncle Ho's childhood activities; Art program "From Sen Village to Ho Chi Minh City"; Nghe An Marathon 2024 "Journey to Sen Village" and cultural, artistic, sports, camping, folk games associated with Uncle Ho's childhood...
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the annual Sen Village Festival has become an important political and cultural event.
Through this, people will have a deeper understanding of his life and revolutionary career, contributing to further promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Promoting the tradition of patriotism, the morality of remembering the source of water, building a great national unity bloc for the cause of a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, fair and civilized society.
In particular, this year marks the 55th anniversary of the day Uncle Ho sent his last letter to the Party Executive Committee of Nghe An province, and the 55th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament. There are four things Uncle Ho instructed in the letter "What to do next", with the wish "I sincerely hope that the people and comrades of the province will strive to make Nghe An soon become one of the most prosperous provinces in the North".
At the opening ceremony, the Mobile Police Cavalry soldiers made an impressive performance as they crossed the fire.
Uncle Ho's advice is a guideline, a source of motivation, a great source of strength for the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An to promote the revolutionary spirit, concentrate resources, overcome difficulties and challenges, to successfully carry out Uncle Ho's will, and soon turn Nghe An into a prosperous province in the North and the whole country.
Right after the opening ceremony was the art program "Homeland in Lotus Blooming Season" with three chapters: Lotus Blooming in the Night Sky, Vietnamese Sun and Homeland Singing Forever About Him, which were elaborately and uniquely staged.
