To celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), Venezuelan media have simultaneously reported and published articles praising this important historical event, as well as highlighting the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. According to the VNA correspondent in Latin America, in the program "The 79th Anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolution," Venevisión Television talked with Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My about the context and historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, stating that the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 was a great source of encouragement for the world revolutionary movement, especially for many Latin American countries that were struggling for self-determination at that time. In the program broadcast live to tens of millions of viewers in Venezuela, journalist and host Rafael Aníbal Camacho affirmed that the great ideology of President Ho Chi Minh has always accompanied Vietnam's great victories over the past 79 years and still holds true today.![]() |

Sharing with Venezuelan television viewers, Ambassador Vu Trung My stated that the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945 is a legal document that lays the foundation for affirming the establishment of a rule-of-law state in Vietnam, inspiring creativity and illuminating the path of the Vietnamese Revolution in the cause of building a state of the people, by the people and for the people. Moreover, the Declaration of Independence also contributed to the cause of human liberation, opening the era of independence and freedom for colonial and oppressed peoples around the world. Over the past nearly 8 decades, through fierce wars to expel colonialists and imperialists to gain independence and then the period of national reconstruction and development, Vietnam has achieved great achievements in all aspects, increasingly affirming its position in the international arena. Referring to achievements in foreign affairs, Ambassador Vu Trung My emphasized that from a poor colony, Vietnam has now become a diplomatic partner of 192 countries, a member of the United Nations, a responsible and prestigious member of the international community, participating in many multilateral organizations. Over the years, Vietnam has consistently implemented an independent, self-reliant, diversified, multilateral foreign policy, being a friend and a reliable partner, for a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing international community. Regarding Vietnam-Venezuela relations, Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed that the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries continue to be strengthened and promoted in all fields over the past time, especially in the context that 2024 is the occasion for the two countries to celebrate the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (December 1989 - December 2024). Meanwhile, Globovisión Television, Mundo Diplomático Television and Venezuelan National Radio (RNV) also reported on Vietnam's National Day, highlighting the great achievements of the Vietnamese people, from a country devastated by wars to one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and a model for development for many countries. In particular, Orinoco - the oldest daily newspaper in Venezuela with over 100 years of history and the largest circulation - also published an article "79 years of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," praising the glorious journey of the Vietnamese people, the role and mission of the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as the life, career and great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam and the world.
