Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will enroll 6th graders earlier than last year.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of March 28, an official from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said: "This year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Ho Chi Minh City will enroll 6th grade students in June 2025, instead of early July like every year."

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will organize a survey to enroll 6th grade students at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.

In previous years, the survey period to Grade 6 enrollment for Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School usually takes place in early July. However, this year, the city's enrollment is expected to be completed by the end of June (2 months earlier than last year), so grade 6 enrollment for Tran Dai Nghia School will also be carried out earlier.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, candidates applying for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School are expected to take a 90-minute test.

The test consists of two parts: multiple choice and essay. The test content aims to assess English and Vietnamese language proficiency; mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences; social sciences: history - geography; and common sense.

Specifically as follows:

The multiple choice section consists of 20 questions in English. Candidates have 30 minutes to complete the test. The content of this section is questions about natural sciences, social sciences, and common sense.

The essay section takes 60 minutes to complete, including questions to assess candidates' English proficiency in listening, reading, and writing skills; and questions to test mathematical ability and logical thinking.

In particular, the essay test will have questions in Vietnamese and candidates will take the test in Vietnamese. The questions in Vietnamese are intended to test candidates' reading comprehension and writing skills.

4,301 students registered for grade 6 entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year

In the 2024-2025 school year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School has 4,301 students registered for grade 6, while the enrollment quota is 350.

It is known that the enrollment target for the 2024-2025 school year has decreased significantly compared to before the school separation. The previous target of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted was usually 535 6th grade students.
