(Dan Tri) - At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, students will have a 28-day Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 to have time to rest and avoid traffic congestion.
MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that this year the school's 2025 Lunar New Year holiday will last 28 days, from January 20 to February 16, 2025.
Thus, the number of Tet holidays for students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade in 2025 is equal to the number of Tet holidays in 2024.
Mr. Pham Thai Son said that the school arranged the Tet holiday schedule as above to help students, staff, lecturers, employees and workers have time to rest and restore their working energy.
In addition, the extended Tet holiday schedule helps people proactively avoid peak days near Tet when travel costs are high and traffic is overloaded, especially for those who are far from home.
MSc. Pham Thai Son informed that previously the summer vacation lasted 8 weeks, but from 2023, when the Lunar New Year holiday is extended, the summer vacation will only last 7 weeks, so even though the Tet holiday is long, the study plan and program for the year will still be ensured.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, said that the school plans to have a 3-week Tet holiday from January 20 to February 11, 2025 (ie from December 21, Giap Thin year to January 14, At Ty year).
Adding two consecutive weekends before the holiday, students get a total of 24 days off.
In addition, the school allows students to study theory online one week before and after the Lunar New Year holiday. Thus, during Tet, students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry can stay in their hometown for nearly 40 days.
Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs submitted to the Prime Minister a plan for a 9-day Tet holiday, from December 26, 2020 to January 5, 2025.
If this plan is approved by the Prime Minister, during the 2025 Lunar New Year, officials, civil servants, and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off.
Specifically, the official Tet holiday schedule is from Monday, January 27, 2025, which is December 28, the year of the Dragon, through December 29 and the 3 days of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of Tet, which is the end of Friday, January 31, 2025.
However, immediately before the 5 official holidays are 2 weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26, 2025, i.e. December 26 and 27 of the lunar calendar. After the official holidays come the next 2 weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, February 1-2, 2025.
So in fact, the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday will start from Saturday, January 25, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (ie the end of January 5, At Ty year).
