The VinFast VF 8 team conquering Tibet has successfully completed more than ten thousand kilometers and returned to Hanoi safely. The Vietnamese electric vehicles show excellent performance despite having to go through many harsh weather and terrain conditions. |
4 VF 8 cars arrived in Hanoi safely. |
According to the delegation, the journey lasted more than 10,000 km, of which, one car alone departed from Ho Chi Minh City owned by Mr. Bach Thanh Trung, admin of VOZ forum, had traveled nearly 12,000 km and was preparing to continue the journey of 2,000 km back to Ho Chi Minh City, for a total of 14,000 km. This is not the first Vietnamese car delegation to drive through China or to Tibet, but the first to use electric vehicles. More specifically, the means of transport is VinFast VF 8, an electric vehicle model researched, developed and manufactured in Vietnam. Since this information was announced, many people have questioned whether an electric vehicle is really suitable for a long and harsh trip. In response, the members have proven that VF 8 - an electric vehicle "made in Vietnam" is completely capable of "handling" all terrains on the journey of tens of thousands of kilometers.

Charging cars in China is not a problem for the VF 8 fleet. |
During the trip, how to charge the battery is the thing that most users are most concerned about. The charging station system in China uses the GBT standard charging port, while VinFast electric cars use the CCS2 standard. Therefore, each car participating in the journey has prepared an additional converter that is compatible with GBT standard charging posts of many different units in China. According to the members, in addition to charging at public charging stations, the whole group can also charge at stations in restaurants and hotels during rest stops. This helps save time without affecting the overall schedule. Thanks to that, the travel plan is always guaranteed from the first days.
In China, on many good quality roads, the whole group maintained a high speed of about 100 km/h. When encountering worse road conditions, the car owners mainly maintained an average speed of 55-60 km/h. Through many different types of terrain and roads, the advanced driving assistance system ADAS on VinFast VF 8 has fully demonstrated its capabilities. Features such as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist to automatic emergency braking... all worked well. Notably, during this journey, there were times when the group had to experience very cold weather, with temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius accompanied by rain and snow. However, in reality, the VinFast VF 8 did not encounter any obstacles. The 4 VF 8 cars still sped through slippery, cold roads with energy consumption almost unchanged compared to normal conditions.

The VF 8s had to overcome many mountainous terrains and bad roads... |
In addition to the extremely low temperatures, the VF 8 team's conquest of Tibet had to cross high mountain terrain from 3,500 meters to more than 5,000 meters with many continuous steep passes, plus the road surface on Highway 109 had many sections with very bad conditions. However, the whole team still maintained comfort and good health thanks to the sturdiness and smoothness of the VF 8 as well as the powerful engine of the Vietnamese electric vehicle. For the members of the team, the conquest of Tibet was not only aimed at "raising the challenge" for the VF 8 - the model that successfully made the trip across Indochina in early 2024, but also the desire to bring the pride of the Vietnamese automobile industry to the world.

VF 8 still operates stably in many weather conditions. |
In addition, the appearance of the delegation also received the attention of many local people.
" Many people were surprised when there were 4 VinFast VF 8 electric cars made in Vietnam appearing in China" , the leader of the delegation, Mr. Chu Huu Tho shared.

The Chinese are also impressed with the Vietnamese electric cars conquering Tibet. |
A Chinese tour guide said he had a good impression of the group, from the people to the Vietnamese electric vehicles. Having the opportunity to test drive the VF 8, he appreciated its more stable operation than the gasoline vehicle he was using. This person also expressed regret for not having the opportunity to drive the VF 8 on a more beautiful road to comfortably "speed up" and test the acceleration capabilities of the Vietnamese electric vehicle. After nearly 1 month of departing from Hanoi, the VinFast VF 8 group conquering Tibet ended the journey successfully and safely returned to Hanoi on November 6.
