Trieu Thuong exploits potential and strengths to develop the economy

Chairman of Trieu Thuong Commune People's Committee Nguyen Quang Thinh said that to achieve that result, the most important thing is that the Party Committee and government of Trieu Thuong Commune have correctly assessed the potential and strengths of the locality to synchronously deploy solutions to develop agricultural production, industry - small-scale industry, trade and services.

With that approach, in 2024, the total production value of the commune's sectors will reach 531 billion VND, of which agriculture, forestry and fishery will be 158 billion VND, industry, handicrafts and trade and services will be 373 billion VND. Currently, the total cultivated area of ​​the commune is more than 765 hectares, of which the main crop is rice, 398 hectares, other crops such as cassava, peanuts, corn, chili, and vegetables will be more than 367 hectares. Trieu Thuong commune has also soon formed a model of growing new trees such as oranges, Thai custard apples, and passion fruit in Thuong Phuoc and Nhan Bieu villages.

In addition to crop development, Trieu Thuong commune regularly promotes the development of livestock and poultry farming. By the end of 2024, the commune's livestock herd will reach tens of thousands of heads, including 1,122 buffaloes and cows, 92% zebu crossbred, 10% 3B crossbred, 1,530 pigs, 43,000 poultry. The commune also strongly develops the cage fish farming model and currently has more than 50 cages with many types of fish with high economic value such as eel, grass carp, catfish, climbing fish. The freshwater fish farming area is also maintained annually at 18 hectares. Aquaculture activities mainly capture natural fish, with an output of 45 tons in 2024.

On the other hand, Trieu Thuong commune focuses on doing a good job of forest management, protection and development. In 2024, the commune's forest exploitation area will reach 600 hectares, with a timber output of 72,000 ^m3 . Along with exploitation, people will promote afforestation, focusing on afforestation according to FSC certification, reaching 318.34 hectares. The forest coverage rate in 2024 will reach over 60%. The rubber tree area will also be strongly developed, reaching 192.63 hectares. In 2024, each hectare of rubber will bring in an income of 800,000 - 850,000 VND/tapping time for people.

To help people develop production, the Party Committee and the government of Trieu Thuong commune pay attention to leading cooperatives to provide good quality services such as irrigation, land preparation, harvesting, and product purchasing, ensuring the role of "midwife" for member households. Currently, Trieu Thuong commune has 4 cooperatives. Through the assessment of the performance results in 2024, Thuong Phuoc cooperative is classified as good, 2 cooperatives are classified as fairly good, namely Nhan Bieu 3 and Nhan Bieu, 1 cooperative is dissolved to establish a cooperative group. To operate effectively, cooperatives regularly innovate the operation and management of the board of directors and the board of directors according to the Law on Cooperatives.

In the field of industrial production - handicrafts, the whole commune currently has more than 80 production establishments such as mechanics, wood sawing, casting, milling, garment, ice production, civil carpentry with more than 220 workers; there are more than 210 commercial - service establishments with more than 700 workers.

Every year, local authorities and Party committees create the best conditions to help enterprises, industrial production establishments, and business households register and access industrial promotion policies and preferential loans from banks to invest in expanding production, renovating equipment, reorganizing production, increasing revenue, and contributing to improving people's lives.

In 2024, Trieu Thuong Commune People's Committee registered to build two industrial promotion models: a peanut oil press in Tram village and a wooden furniture production model in Ngu Hiep village.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thinh added that in 2025, the Party Committee and the government of Trieu Thuong commune will continue to promote the exploitation of local potentials and strengths, striving to bring the total production value of all sectors to 621 billion VND, of which agriculture - forestry - fishery is 171.4 billion VND, industry - handicrafts, trade - services is 449.6 billion VND, raising the average income per capita to 82-83 million VND.

Accordingly, Trieu Thuong commune focuses on directing cooperatives and people to promote the application of science and technology to ensure the requirements of crop restructuring, increase productivity and quality, and bring the average rice yield to 50-52 quintals/ha. At the same time, promote the process of land accumulation, create favorable conditions for enterprises to participate in agricultural production investment, strive to implement 2 models according to the 2024 plan of the Commune People's Committee on concentrating on land accumulation to form a commodity production area by 2025, with a vision to 2030.

On the other hand, focus on linking product consumption, increasing the value of large-scale field production, implementing well the consolidation of land plots, improving fields, planning concentrated production areas, in which priority is given to investment and support in building transport infrastructure, electricity grid for units with planning of livestock areas far from residential areas, specialized production areas of planned crops as well as strengthening direction, organizing trial production, building pilot models for new crops and livestock, thereby drawing experience and replicating in the commune. Continue to maintain the large-scale field model at Nhan Bieu Cooperative to ensure "3 together": same variety, same technical process, same time, aiming to link and consume products for farmers.

Trieu Thuong commune continues to restructure the livestock industry by region. In which, people are encouraged to develop livestock according to the production and consumption chain with the participation of investment and market connection of enterprises and cooperatives to stabilize the buffalo herd, develop the cattle and poultry herd.

Mobilize people to develop lake fish farming areas and increase the number of fish cages to increase income; do a good job of forest management and protection, strongly develop large timber plantation models, expand the area of ​​FSC and VFCS registered forests, ensure the exploited forest area is 600 hectares, and the timber output reaches 72,000 ^m3 .
