In 2024, the Trieu Phong District Party Committee has had timely and practical solutions, actively directed the implementation of 17/18 socio-economic targets to achieve and exceed the set plan. Notably, the total value of production sectors reached 8,258 billion VND, an increase of 13.3%. Average income per capita reached 75 million VND/year. State budget revenue in the area is estimated at 713 billion VND, equal to 158% of the plan.
The cultural and social fields have changed positively. National defense and security have been consolidated and enhanced. Trieu Phong district was recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural district in 2024.
To reorganize and streamline the apparatus, the district merged Trieu An commune with Trieu Van commune, taking the new name Trieu Tan commune; merged Trieu Lang commune and Trieu Son commune, taking the new name Trieu Co commune; merged the Propaganda Department and the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department into the District Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department. Up to now, the agencies and units after the merger and consolidation have operated smoothly.
Regarding the key tasks in 2025, Trieu Phong district set out 20 main targets and 10 groups of tasks to focus on leadership, direction, and continue to deploy and complete the action program to implement the Resolution of the 20th District Party Congress, the socio-economic development plan for the period 2020-2025 and the resolutions and conclusions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
In particular, focusing on directing socio-economic development measures in 2025 from the beginning of the year; speeding up site clearance for key projects; successfully directing grassroots party congresses towards the 21st District Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
At the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong highly appreciated Trieu Phong district for its efforts in restructuring the agricultural sector associated with new rural construction; successfully building the Trieu Phong Clean Rice brand, the first organic rice brand in the province to be recognized.
To accelerate the target and objectives of the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the district establish a working group to direct site clearance, support investors, and accumulate land to attract investment, creating momentum for the district to develop. Review the potentials and have fundamental solutions to make breakthroughs and breakthroughs in development in the directions of the sea, hills, etc.
Apply high technology to organic farming, shift from agricultural production to effective agricultural economic development and have a mechanism to encourage investment in deep processing and refined processing to lead agricultural development. Actively coordinate with provincial departments, branches and sectors to remove difficulties and obstacles in infrastructure, and unlock resources for investment and development.
Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai requested the Trieu Phong District Party Committee to resolutely implement solutions to promote economic growth in 2025 to over 8% according to the Government's direction to promote socio-economic development, accelerate the completion of targets for the 2020-2025 term, creating a premise to strive for double-digit growth from 2026 onwards.
Emphasizing that Trieu Phong is a land of outstanding people, the hometown of General Secretary Le Duan, with much room for development, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai suggested that the district needs to have a determined solution to resolve the contradiction that the district's potential is still large but has not developed commensurately. 2025 is the final year to implement the targets and objectives of the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, the district needs to focus on Party building work; strengthen inspection and supervision work, and successfully carry out the set political tasks.
Regarding the direction of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, Trieu Phong district needs to determine the development direction to connect the two urban areas of Dong Ha city and Quang Tri town, connecting the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone with Hai Lang and Gio Linh districts in the eastern coastal area. Applying high technology to develop the agricultural economy. Promoting the value of historical and cultural relics to promote the development of the district's tourism industry, contributing positively to the local socio-economic growth.
