Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition in Hue

(CLO) The 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Contest marks a significant increase in the photo series genre, showing that a number of authors have begun to focus on longer-term compositions.

On the afternoon of October 25, at 15 Le Loi, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province, the opening ceremony and award ceremony of the 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Contest and Exhibition took place.

The exhibition displays 250 works by 194 authors, of which 200 are in the realistic photography category and 50 are in the conceptual photography category. The works on display this time include 33 outstanding works awarded from the 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Contest.

The Vietnam Art Photography Contest 2024 is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. After 3 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received 9,500 works from 1,373 authors from 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

The Art Council selected 250 works by 194 authors to display at the exhibition. Of these, 33 excellent works were awarded prizes, including: 3 Gold Medals for the works “Hai Phong, sleepless nights” by author Vu Van Lam (Hai Phong), the photo series “Colors of the city on the East Sea” by author Tran Ngoc Thinh (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), “Modern lifestyle” by Le Tuan Anh (Hau Giang); 6 Silver Medals; 8 Bronze Medals and 15 Encouragement Prizes; 1 work was awarded the Outstanding Work Award about Hue.

According to the Organizing Committee, these are dedicated works, the results of the artists' artistic creations over the past 2 years, reflecting the artists' emotions, perceptions and thoughts about the reality of life.

In the genre of realistic photography, images of Vietnam in the process of development and integration appear with realistic, vivid and rich camera angles.

In the conceptual photography genre, authors have invested, researched and achieved initial success in the field of conceptual photography creation, contributing to enriching photographic compositions in line with new trends.

The Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition 2024 will take place from October 25 to November 3, 2024 in Hue city, and will be introduced on the website of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions.
