Deploying foreign affairs work in 2024

This afternoon, January 26, the Department of Foreign Affairs held a conference to review foreign affairs work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam attended the conference.

In 2023, the province's foreign affairs continued to achieve important results. The province continued to maintain, promote, and strengthen traditional friendship and cooperation relations and expand cooperation with many provinces in neighboring countries. Important political and foreign affairs events were successfully hosted and coordinated by the province.

Continue to focus on international integration and cooperation activities, focusing on economic diplomacy. Cooperative relationships with embassies of other countries and international organizations are strengthened, thereby promoting cooperation, information sharing, trade promotion and investment in the province.

International cooperation activities on the anniversaries of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries took place vigorously, contributing to promoting the image of Quang Tri to international friends. Along with that, direct foreign affairs activities of provincial leaders were effectively implemented, contributing to building trust, promoting mutual trust, laying a solid foundation for the stable development of relations between the province and foreign partners.

Currently, the province has 94 foreign non-governmental programs and projects being implemented with disbursed capital in 2023 reaching more than 17 million USD. Continue to do a good job in consular and border work; citizen protection; care for overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese workers working in foreign organizations, programs, and projects...

In 2024, Quang Tri province will carry out foreign affairs work using many flexible methods and solutions, ensuring efficiency and quality, focusing on economic and cultural diplomacy and mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid.

Continue to develop and improve the effectiveness of cooperative relationships with neighboring countries, traditional friends and major countries. Promote digital transformation in foreign affairs. Continue to participate in and successfully organize major international forums and seminars in new formats, keeping up with the digital transformation trend. Along with that, we will strengthen close contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to promote cooperation with localities and host countries to serve socio-economic development.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam praised and acknowledged the achievements of the provincial foreign affairs sector, which have made important contributions to the socio-economic development, security and defense of the locality. The team of people working in foreign affairs have joined hands and contributed to helping Quang Tri continue to be a bright spot in the country in attracting, using and effectively managing foreign non-governmental capital.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam requested the team of people working in foreign affairs to focus on performing the following main tasks: Continue to deploy and effectively implement the foreign affairs orientation of the Party and State; maintain and develop cooperative relationships with provinces of neighboring countries.

Implement comprehensive cooperation in all fields to deepen bilateral relations with partners, practicality and effectiveness, focusing on economic diplomacy; develop relations with embassies of other countries and international organizations; strengthen consultation and management of outgoing and incoming delegations and the work of signing international agreements; effectively implement activities related to borders, seas and islands...

At the conference, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the province's foreign affairs work in 2023 were commended and rewarded.
