According to statistics from Yuanta Securities, the pressure on corporate bonds maturing in the fourth quarter of 2023 is about VND 57 trillion, excluding repurchases, of which real estate accounts for about 47%.
The amount of bonds maturing in 2024 is relatively large with more than VND 297 trillion of bonds maturing, of which the real estate group still accounts for a large proportion.
Analysts believe that the corporate bond market will start to become active again in the third quarter of 2023 when the HNX private bond trading system comes into operation.
Accumulated in 10 months of 2023, the issuance value reached 214 trillion VND, of which 192 trillion VND was issued privately and 22 trillion VND was issued through public offering channel.
Banking and real estate continue to be the two industries with the largest corporate bond issuance. The biggest change comes from the construction and materials industry. In 2022, this group issued up to VND22,509 billion in bonds, while in the first 10 months of this year, it was only VND110 billion.
Meanwhile, on the part of the authorities, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Banks and Financial Institutions (Ministry of Finance) said that over the past time, the authorities have proactively implemented solutions to stabilize the market; regularly monitored and urged enterprises to pay their bond debts; strengthened inspection, supervision, rectification and handling of violations. Communication work has also been strengthened to restore investor confidence.
