Thu Duc City announced the number of applications for 3 schools to survey students' abilities for entering grade 6.

At noon on June 3, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City announced the initial number of registration files to participate in the survey for grade 6 of Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School and Binh Tho Secondary School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, as of June 2, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School received 1,025 applications compared to 315 enrollment targets for grade 6, the competition ratio is 1 to 3.2 students.

Similarly, Hoa Lu Secondary School received 1,116 applications compared to 385 enrollment targets for grade 6, the competition ratio was 1 to 2.89.

Binh Tho Secondary School received 696 applications compared to 280 enrollment targets for grade 6, the competition ratio is 1 to 2.48.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, said that from June 3 to 4, parents can go to the school to register for the initial survey and withdraw their application to register for one of the two remaining schools if they want to change their registered wishes.

From June 10 to 12, parents come to school to receive survey participation cards according to the announcement on the school's website.

Candidates take a 90-minute competency test, consisting of two parts: a multiple-choice test (answering 20 multiple-choice questions in English about understanding natural sciences, social sciences and common life knowledge in 30 minutes) and an essay test (taken in 60 minutes, including a test of English, mathematics and logical thinking skills, and reading comprehension and writing skills).

Each student can only register for the entrance exam at one school (no other wishes), the exam results of that school will not be used to consider admission to the other two schools; students are encouraged to register at a school near their living area for convenience in pick-up and drop-off, avoiding pressure at a certain school.

The survey will take place on June 15; results are expected to be announced on June 22.

From June 22 to June 23, parents can submit a request for a review (if any). On June 27, the review results and survey results will be announced.

From 8:00 a.m. on June 28 to 5:00 p.m. on July 5, admitted students must submit their admission application. After that time, if students do not submit their admission application, the school will remove their name from the admission list.
