Closely monitor food safety and hygiene
On January 13, at the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang had a working session with retail businesses (Saigon Co.op, Satra, AEON Mall...), wholesale markets (Hoc Mon, Binh Dien, Thu Duc) on the supply of goods for the Lunar New Year 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang assessed that the current purchasing power has increased sharply compared to previous days, showing that consumers have started shopping for Tet. To limit the impact on the delivery of goods due to local traffic congestion, the Deputy Minister suggested that businesses connect consumers in industrial clusters, export processing zones, and residential areas for centralized delivery, saving time. At the same time, she requested the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade and businesses to promptly propose difficulties and the ministry will report to the Government.
“During the peak of Tet, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, market management forces… are required to continue to strengthen the review of price listings, closely monitor food safety and hygiene from the source, and step up propaganda to consumers to raise awareness of purchasing…”, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang emphasized.
