Hanoi is ready to promote sustainable cooperation with Sejong City (South Korea)

At the reception, expressing his pleasure to receive the delegation for a visit and work, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh commented that, on the basis of the very special relationship between Vietnam and Korea, the relationship between the capital Hanoi and Korean localities has developed very well in recent times.

Assessing the large number of Korean enterprises currently operating in the capital, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the city has paid much attention to resolving any arising problems, promoting production and business activities.

Agreeing with the view of the head of the Hanoi People's Committee on the Vietnam - Korea relationship, Mayor Choi Minho hopes that the capital Hanoi and Sejong city will promote cooperation in all aspects in the future.

Sharing an overview of the special autonomous city of Sejong, Mayor Choi Minho said that Korea is planning to transfer the national administrative function from Seoul to Sejong, so Sejong City is devoting a lot of effort to building the capacity to meet this task, including applying the most important technological achievements, especially in infrastructure and transportation, to realize the idea of ​​a smart and modern "future city".

According to Mayor Choi Minho, Sejong City has many conditions to become an ideal destination for human resources in Southeast Asia to study and work. On that basis, the Sejong government hopes to increase people-to-people exchanges - especially among young people - and promote cultural exchanges with the capital Hanoi in the coming time.

Mayor Choi Minho also expressed his hope that the Hanoi city government will continue to pay attention to facilitating the operations of Sejong enterprises in particular and Korean enterprises in general in the area.

Appreciating the potential and position of Sejong, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh congratulated the city on receiving the trust of the Korean Government , choosing it as the country's new administrative center.

Noting that Hanoi is also facing many challenges similar to Seoul, the Chairman of the City People's Committee shared some experiences and future plans, emphasizing the importance of arranging administrative and economic functional locations in a harmonious manner, in line with long-term development goals.

Agreeing with the proposal to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation and promote people-to-people exchange between Hanoi and Sejong City, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that this would be a roadmap of utmost importance to both sides, and suggested assigning the relevant agencies of both sides to study and move towards establishing a comprehensive and long-term cooperation program.

At the meeting, the two sides also spent a lot of time discussing issues of mutual concern, including increasing birth rates and student care; developing smart, green and sustainable urban areas; streamlining the administrative apparatus towards effectiveness and efficiency...
