Asian International School students get exposed to SIU Chatbot while learning about artificial intelligence (AI)
On January 1, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a plan to promote research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) from research and testing environments to widespread application in society in the city by 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee set the goal of effectively implementing the contents of the AI research and application development program, striving to turn the city into the country's leading center for research, testing, application and development of AI technology platforms. By 2030, it is expected that 100% of departments, branches, districts and Thu Duc City will have AI applications to serve state management.
As for the Department of Education and Training, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, assigned the education sector to focus on researching technologies and solutions such as:
- The virtual teacher application is designed to answer questions that students often ask such as lesson plans, course modules, assignments. The virtual teacher can track the learning progress of students in a one-on-one manner, provide each participant with personalized feedback, recommend more suitable learning content to students by analyzing their learning skills and weaknesses.
- The Department of Education and Training focuses on researching technologies and solutions for career orientation, using AI to analyze and evaluate students' learning outcomes, interests, goals, and labor market needs. From there, predict and advise students on school and career orientation.
- Student management: use AI to analyze information on learning outcomes, student health, psychology, entertainment needs, etc. to make recommendations to improve learning efficiency.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Information and Communications, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and related units to deploy online training and foster knowledge about AI.
At the request of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the above departments and branches coordinate to develop an online training program, providing AI knowledge for the social community from basic to advanced, ensuring suitability for each subject and social class. Integrate the AI training and knowledge training program into the online platform.
