ANTD.VN - The General Department of Taxation wants taxpayers to provide information to tax authorities or police agencies if they discover the purchase, sale, or use of illegal invoices.

Accordingly, the General Department of Taxation said that on April 21, 2022, this unit held a ceremony to announce the national electronic invoice (EI) system.

The success in implementing the electronic invoice system has contributed to creating favorable conditions for production and business, reducing social costs, increasing revenue for the state budget, and has been supported by the business community and taxpayers.

The General Department of Taxation recommends that people only take invoices based on the actual purchase and sale of goods.

However, a number of individuals and businesses with low awareness of tax law compliance have deliberately issued, bought, sold, and used electronic invoices to gain illegal profits and appropriate tax money and the state budget.

In order to promptly detect and prevent the buying and selling of invoices, the Tax sector has deployed the "Database analysis and electronic invoice management system" to isolate risks related to electronic invoices and identify the relationship between buyers and sellers of invoices nationwide.

At the same time, Tax authorities at all levels have received assistance from agencies, departments and branches, especially the Police Department, to improve the work of preventing and combating fraud in the purchase, sale and use of electronic invoices.

“Recently, the Public Security Agency has prosecuted many cases and arrested many subjects for the act of “illegally buying and selling invoices and documents for payment to the State budget” according to Article 203 - Penal Code. All violations and frauds in the issuance and use of illegal electronic invoices are recorded on the Tax sector information system and will be reviewed and analyzed for handling in accordance with the provisions of law” - the General Department of Taxation emphasized.

To contribute to creating a healthy and transparent business environment in fulfilling obligations to the State budget and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of tax management, the General Department of Taxation requests that taxpayers when purchasing and selling goods and providing services must use invoices in accordance with actual occurrence, and not buy and sell electronic invoices. At the same time, promptly provide information on subjects advertising electronic invoices to the nearest Tax authority and Police agency or via the hotline posted on the website of the Tax authority and local Police agency for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.

“The information provided by taxpayers will be kept confidential and strictly handled, preventing acts that may cause damage to society. When using invoices, taxpayers need to regularly access the General Department of Taxation's website https://hoadondientu.gdt.gov.vn to look up and check with the content recorded on the invoice.

In case the taxpayer discovers that he/she has not purchased goods or services but still receives an electronic invoice sent from the seller, he/she is requested to immediately contact the seller or the tax authority for timely handling, to avoid being taken advantage of by businesses, organizations and individuals issuing illegal invoices" - the General Department of Taxation recommends.
