According to Ms. Luc, the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has caused Vietnam to lose a prestigious leader who left a very strong and lasting mark in the country's history.
According to Ms. Luc, what is special about General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is his ability to persuade and lead communist party leaders of other countries. In international relations, this French politician believes that the General Secretary continues to follow the example of President Ho Chi Minh in his efforts to establish relations with many countries around the world, prioritizing the use of diplomatic measures to peacefully resolve disagreements, thereby helping to prevent or end conflicts.
Ms. Luc affirmed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will live forever in Vietnam's history, as an example for younger generations, who will be eager to learn about the country's history as well as the General Secretary's contributions to the country's construction and development, to continue efforts to consolidate and further enhance Vietnam's position in the international arena.
In an interview with VNA, Dr. Sandra Scagliotti, a Vietnamologist and Honorary Consul of Vietnam in the two regions of Piemonte and Liguria in northern Italy, said that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a leader who has made outstanding contributions to the cause of national construction and development, caring for people's lives, building and rectifying the Party and fighting corruption in Vietnam. Ms. Scagliotti also recalled unforgettable memories of meeting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in 2013, when the General Secretary visited Italy.
Dr. Scagliotti is passionate about researching Vietnam and Uncle Ho. She has translated some of President Ho Chi Minh's works into Italian, such as The Revolutionary Path.
As one of the editors of Anteo Edizioni Publishing House, Dr. Scagliotti included in the publisher's Banyan publication the Italian translation of the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. She assessed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book not only summarizes the Doi Moi policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, but is also a valuable lesson for political parties around the world.
Ms. Scagliotti emphasized that with perseverance and tenacity, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has strengthened foreign affairs activities and international cooperation from the perspective of multilateralism. She was very pleased with the General Secretary's statement that no one should falter or hesitate in following the basic principles of international law, equality, cooperation, and mutual benefit to build and protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
Sharing with VNA reporters, Chinese dignitaries and intellectuals also expressed their feelings and respect for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Mr. Ly Minh Han, a researcher on Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, and advisor to the film “Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong”, said that after hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s passing, he and his friends were extremely saddened and mourned the passing of a communist soldier, one of Vietnam’s most respected leaders.
Researcher Ly Minh Han said that Vietnam's achievements have had a profound impact on all socialist countries in the world, especially the results in anti-corruption work in recent years. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also left a very good impression of his integrity and simplicity in his whole life of dedication to the Party, the country and the people. He emphasized: General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong deserves to be one of the outstanding students of President Ho Chi Minh.
Referring to the Vietnam-China relationship, Mr. Ly Minh Han said that one of the hallmarks of Vietnam under the leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is the appropriate and effective foreign policy in harmonizing relations between major countries, as well as strengthening and developing relations with socialist countries and communist parties; not only stabilizing relations with the United States and Russia, but also consolidating and promoting relations with China to a new height.
