Photo of General Secretary interacting with legendary saxophone artist wins 'Golden Moment' award

On the morning of December 25, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in coordination with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group held an award ceremony and opened the 7th Golden Moment press photo exhibition in 2024.

After nearly 2 months of launching (from October 24, 2024 to November 30, 2024), the organizing committee received 3,435 works. Of which, there were 2,930 single photos and 505 photo series submitted by 431 authors.

2 authors won first prize in the 7th Golden Moment photojournalism award in 2024

The jury selected 22 outstanding works to award prizes and display. Specifically, in the single photo category, there was 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes. In the photo series category, there was 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Viet Trang, General Director of VNA, highly appreciated the entries for the Golden Moment press photo contest. 7th time in 2024.

"The award will contribute to encouraging photographers to pursue their passion and explore so that the public can admire quality press photos," Ms. Vu Viet Trang affirmed.

Sharing the story behind the work Music connects people , author Pham Tuan Anh said that his photo won first prize in the single photo category thanks to the sensitivity in the process of working.

"When General Secretary To Lam raised his thumb to show his appreciation for saxophonist Kenny G, I saw everyone in the frame happy. That moment not only gave viewers the feeling that the General Secretary was a politician but also a music lover," said author Pham Tuan Anh.
