Secretary General of the Dominican Republic's United Left Movement Party works with Petrovietnam

On December 11, 2024, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), Member of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Tran Hong Nam had a meeting and worked with a high-ranking delegation of the United Left Movement Party (MIU) of the Dominican Republic, led by Comrade Mejía Abreu José Miguel, General Secretary of the MIU Party, Minister of Regional Integration Policy.

Also attending the meeting were leaders of professional departments/Group Offices and representatives of the leaders of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP).

At the meeting, on behalf of Petrovietnam's leadership, Board Member Tran Hong Nam welcomed Mr. Mejía Abreu José Miguel and the delegation of the Government of the Dominican Republic to visit and work with Petrovietnam.

Petrovietnam Board Member Tran Hong Nam emphasized that during the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Dominican Republic at the end of November, Petrovietnam leaders had the opportunity to exchange information with the leaders of the Government, ministries and sectors of Dominica on cooperation in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation in particular, and cooperation in the energy sector in general. In particular, this cooperation has received the support, consensus and high determination of the leaders of the two Governments of Vietnam and Dominica, contributing to strengthening the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Mejía Abreu José Miguel said that immediately after the official visit of the Prime Minister of Vietnam to the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader Corona directly directed the leaders of the Dominican Ministry of Energy and Mines to quickly discuss with Petrovietnam to promote cooperation. He also said that through the information shared by Petrovietnam leaders, the Dominican Republic is ready and willing to cooperate with the Group in most areas of operation such as oil and gas exploration and exploitation, gasoline production, urea production, renewable energy, etc.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Hong Nam shared with Mr. Mejía Abreu José Miguel about Petrovietnam's fields of operation. The Group is a pioneering enterprise, leading in offshore wind power, mechanical engineering, petroleum and fertilizer production... in Vietnam. With many years of experience and specialized capacity, Petrovietnam is ready to cooperate with the Dominican Republic.

In the coming time, Petrovietnam and the ministries and sectors of the Dominican Republic will focus on exchanging, discussing, and sharing information to come up with specific and optimal cooperation plans that meet the requirements of each party, ensuring harmonious interests, for the common development goal. Mr. Tran Hong Nam also believes that the successful cooperation between the Group and the Dominican Republic will "bring closer" the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries.
